You must be including Jermain Taylor and Antonio Tarver

Sorry, but Taylor and Tarver are NOT elites and never were.
If they weren't elites it makes him look even worse, he lost TWICE to a guy who WAS NOT an elite? Damn.

Other than his fighting style this is one of the reasons I could care less about watching Hopkins, he takes the fights that have the least risk in them, the only fight he took where Hopkins was really at a risk was with Tarver and though he won that fight fair and square and looked almost super human, Nobody can deny that Tarver was not right in that fight, weather it was the weight loss or not, its a very questionable debate.
I would bet right now if Hopkins rematched Tarver he would lose, seriously. either way I am glad to see that I am not the only one who sees the reality of Mr Hopkins, and to be honest with you he lost his first fight as well and I am sure he wasnt elite either, But Hopkins and his fans will say the man was a cruiser weight blah blah blah, (Hopkins must have been the same weight for that fight I am sure he wasnt 160)
either way I hope he stays away from the sport and I am glad I didnt have to pay to see him run like a girl, look for help from the ref etc...

Negative fighting goes unrewarded, which is justice

And no I'm not going to stop just yet
this is a dumb topic... a 43 year old Hopkins gave Calzaghe the toughest fight of his life... that means a prime hopkins beats Calzaghe.

So? 3 of those losses came when he was past 40 and shot. Calzaghe is undefeated against nobodies and shot fighters. I would take Hopkins record any day of the week. He took on all comers like a man no matter how old he was.
Shot? Do you even watch boxing?

He did take everyone on though. His fight against James Toney was particularly engaging. Also:

He took on all comers like a man no matter how old he was.

As weak as those names are, your statement is incorrect. Hopkins cleaned up 160.

                  OK.

I have a higher standard when i use ”elite“ that's all

On Hopkins record I consider elites only the following

                  Roy
                  Tito
                  Oscar
                  Winky
                  Calzaghe

When i think elite on hopkins resume i think

I agree, i was just pointing out my disagreement with the inclusion of those fighters as elites.

On the originl topic. Hopkins lost 3 of those fights after turning 40.

I would bet my house and my family that if Hopkins had been 35 when he fought Taylor, there would have been no rematch, and we wouldnt have had to endure so much sloppiness in main events, as we had to when Taylor was champ.

Calzaghe would always give him hell stylewise, and Calzaghe is a much better fighter than JT.
