Hopkins is 2-4 against elite fighters his own size

    The facts say it all.

He's a skilled boxer, good enough to beat Joe if he had the balls to fight, but he gives away too much.

Negative fighting goes unrewarded, which is justice

I'd say he tried to pull the same **** with making the smaller man move up against Joe, he just lost this time. There was a reason Hopkins wouldnt weigh in on Saturday night.

Hopkins has a negative style that relies on illegal tactics - it doesn't work as well against elite fighters like Taylor, Jones and Calzaghe.

Same thing with Hatton. He fights illegally and when forced to actually box, he sucks. I think Hopkins has gotten by with fighting dirty since about 2003 because his skills have left him. He simply can't fight without headbutting, holding and hitting, and playing to the ref.

He's better than Hatton, though the comparison is appropriate

I guess the NON CAL***GY- BUTT-HUGGING WAY TO look at it would be that

Bernard is 3-3 since TURNING 40 years old.( one of those wins being for the light heavy weight championship) and was 48-2 BEFORE turning 40 years old..

                  but whatever.

So? 3 of those losses came when he was past 40 and shot. Calzaghe is undefeated against nobodies and shot fighters. I would take Hopkins record any day of the week. He took on all comers like a man no matter how old he was. Calzaghe can never say the same thing! Now he wants to fight Roy Jones and retire Like I said I'll take Hopkins career any day of the week!
