It is ridiculous that Oscar is even fighting guys as small as Forbes. Or even Floyd for that matter.

And Oscar wanted to fight Hatton.

There is much too much money riding on De La Hoya -vs- Mayweather II.

The story behind Steve "Two Pounds" Forbes, and Oscar "giving back" by fighting on HBO in 7 years, is, for the most part, Ingenius Promoting. Should Steve Forbes not be content with his check after all the deductions are made, he'd tell De La Hoya he wants in on GBP, or he'll tell the world how he was paid to take a huge dive, even though the contract will have a fine print saying he can't sue Golden Boy.

De La Hoya must win to Challenge for Mayweather's WBC 154lb title.
Vernon Forrest has that belt and hes defending it against Sergio Mora. He won it vacant in the win over Carlos Boldimir last year. I think that Oscar and Mayweather are fighting at a catch weight for the rematch.

I am also irritated that he is not fighting guys that are his size. If he wants to fight guys that are in his proper weight division , then Vernon Forrest would be more than happy to kick his butt.

yeah i noticed that too, they looking so far past forbes straight into the mayweather rematch. they make it look like steve is heading to his own execution which probably is where he's going. i actually felt sad after watching the countdown, i really do feel for forbes. he's a classy man, and he deserves to win.

it's the proper thing to do, but oscar wont allow himself that kind of risk. forbes is a planned opponent that guarantees victory. with so many millions of dollars on the line for his next fight, oscar might as well have picked ivan calderon to fight. he knows he CANT let himself loose the next payday. he'll be ready to hold steve at his mercy and kill him if he have too. it's a sad reality. but oscar will be like an animal with that money on his mind. watch he'll be brutal on forbes, it'll probably be one of the few time that oscar is not gonna give a **** about a human life.

Floyd looked sensational in his last fight. So Oscar will need to finish off Forbes.

FMJ just KO'd a guy who is bigger, tougher, and better (?) than Forbes. If Oscar fails to impress, it will hurt the September fight.

Why am I hearing about Cotto-Mayorga?

                From Sportsbook.

                ODLH: -2600

                Forbes: +1300

Anyone who thinks Forbes has even a remote chance at pulling the upset has got to be in love with those odds.

Forbes has the biggest chance in his life right here.

People will be impressed come on fight night. He might not win, but he will go down or even make it a competitive fight.

You never know. This is boxing.

I just get the feeling that he can make it as competitive as he possibly can, and it ultimately won't make a difference. There's no way in hell the judges give him a decision over Oscar.
