How did you score it?

Hopkins was the better fighter/scrapper/cagey old bastard. But if you're gonna be so defensive then those pot shots have to be more damaging and you need to land them flush, apart from the knockdown obviously, I didn't ever think Joe was in trouble.Comment

I think it was much closer than people make it out to be. And I thought Joe got hurt in them middle rounds where he got stopped in his tracks, but I forgot what round it was.Comment

I wasn't impressed by JC's performance (and I'm a fan of his) but too often Hopkins wasn't doing enough to take the round(as I saw it). Even after he knocked Calzaghe down, there were about 15 seconds after he got up in which no punches were thrown.I actually scored it 116-113 (not 116-112 as I stated earlier) for Hopkins. I scored it as follows:
R1: 10-8 Hopkins
R2: 10-9 Hopkins
R3: 10-9 Hopkins
R4: 10-9 Hopkins
R5: 10-9 Calzaghe
R6: 10-9 Hopkins
R7: 10-10 even
R8: 10-9 Hopkins
R9: 10-9 Calzaghe
R10: 10-10 even
R11: 10-9 Calzaghe
R12: 10-9 Calzaghe
Again, I'm not worried about the scoring or the official outcome. Bernard tired down the stretch, no question, but I thought he landed the cleaner, better shots. Joe looked awful IMO. He threw some of the gayest punches I've seen in quite some time. Apparently a lot of people were impressed by him though.
Calzaghe wasn't good, particularly in the first 5/6 rounds, but Calzaghe doing a lot without much effect > Hopkins hardly doing anything. Even if what he did was better quality, there wasn't enough of it in my opinion.Comment
