Boxing needs more Benns and Tysons and Gattis, and less Mayweathers

I'm not dissing Mayweather, I mean he's a talented guy, and he's got nice eyes, but.. Come on! Who the **** wants to watch someone box for 12 whole rounds!? We need more guys like Benn and ****, guys who make a point of making the fight awesome to watch. I know it's been said before, but i think this thread might start a revolution and boxing will be awesome like it used to be.

Don't get me wrong though, guys like Roy Jones Jr. were also real entertaining cos he KOed people and showboated (showboating makes it better to watch, **** "respect" and purists! they can suck the back of my balls), which made people wanna come see him. Another good example is Naseem Hamed, ok he was a ****, but he drew big big crowds and lots of flash and money, and KOed people. I mean there's a place for nice guys, but it's not in boxing, it's in a washing machine filled with naked old men

The best and most entertaining fighters are, as you say, those that bring speed and skill, with KOs and power.

Hamed at his best was easily the most purely entertaining fighter I've seen.

Mayweather could, I think, be awesome if he wanted to. Against Hatton I think we saw a glimpse of the fighter he could be if he chose to fight more often.

Mayweather is right to fight the way he does though. Why hit and be hit when you can hit and not be hit?

A win is a win, at the end of the day.

To us, yes, and to fighter's who's ability is seen as questionable or average. Also when the boring win is close and scrappy like many of Hopkins's.

Its different for a fighter like Mayweather who is able to be boring while still being so clearly superior to his opponents. His style is impressive, for sure, just not very exciting.

No question though, I like exciting fights, exciting fighters and exciting boxing styles the best.

im tired of this kinds of threads of people saying mayweather is boring.
ok, his fights are not like gatti - ward, or marquez - vasquez, we all agree there, but he is not those kind of fighters. his best weapon is not his heart, or going for the ko, or workrate, or willing to take a punch just to hit the other guy.... he is a guy that is defensivley is amazing and he uses that perfectly well on his fights. he is very smart on the ring, cos he doesnt lose his head on there. for example against de la hoya he never trade shots or fight on mid range cos he knew he has no business there or , but against hatton he knew that he could handle him on the inside so he did. i enjoy watching mayweather for his amazing skills and accuracy, maybe i dont jump off my chair like i did on marquez vasquez, but still i enjoy his fights. not every fighter can have a style that pleases the crowd, and also its not your ass thats on the line here. i agree we need more gattis and tyson, etc... but i dont agree we need less mayweathers. remember this is not a street fight, its a sport.
