Biggest myth in Boxing. None of the best yank fighters come to our end of the waters.

The fact is there is no shortage of fighters here in the states. So if a fighter is happy fighting for the brits and makes money then he should stay but if he's looking to be the best( Hatton, Joe C) then he has to come to the states look at Lenox.

Imo it helps to fight all over, esp the US as obviously there's a massive market there. However its vastly exaggerated, the ratio of top fighters, medal winners and holders in the UK vs US isn't that different. I think more yanks need to visit the UK before they criticise vice versa, as it works both ways. Anyone who disagree's is just biased for they're own country and going along with the US hype imo.

Europe has a slightly higher medal to population ratio which someone noted in another thread, so I think sadly in times of globalisation, this trend in thinking and the global ignorance, is still too there, only less so. Farr surprised Lewis and the American public many many years ago, and Calzaghe now coming from the same country to this US, is still not as known or rated as he is elsewhere, so it's got some way to go.

Euro fighters most definitely have to come to the US if they want global respect.

Does anyone outside of Germany even remember Dariusz Michalsweski and what he accomplished in boxing?

For the most part, great in Europe rarely translates to great in America.

See: Wladmir Klitshko, Thomas Daamgard (snicker), Ricky Hatton, Junior Witter, Howard Eastman, Morrade Haakar, Felix Sturm, Andrei Pestriav, Allen Vester, Gianluca Branco, Clintn Woods, Shea O'neary, etc...

The stereotypical best venues are in the States but no longer all the best fighters.

A true World Champion should be able to defend his title across the globe, its interesting that European fighters take stick for staying in Europe when there are so many great American fighters who hardly fight outside their shores.
