Years watching boxing i always hedge my bets. Try not to get too emotionally involved either. When Benn lost to Eubank i didn't talk to anyone for about 2 weeks

So it's about weight behind punches.

I can kind of understand that as Hatton almost got stopped by Collazo and he was a light punching welter, the consensus that Ricky was taking heavier punches.

So if Joe has to weight in at 175 how much could he concievably weigh on fight night?

I would think he'd weigh about 185-190 on fight night.

So he really should be at his natural weight. I get it now.

Cheers it's the intricacies of the sport that baffle me to ****. I can't believe why a fighter wouldn't have a nutritionist/

Yeah, Calzaghe will be at his natural weight at 175.

Some fighters actually do have nutritionists now.

Not just that. The strength of the fighter, how much force they can put into their blow based on the energy generated by their muscles is important too.

Joe will be fine. He's been strugglin to make 168 so 175 is more natural for him at this point. He should be strong at the new weight and fill out wit no problem.

Why was Calzaghe talking about fighting Clinton Woods? What was that about? Was that at 168?

That would have been a hilarious beatdown.

I suppose we have Tarver to thank.
