Calzaghe is not going to knock Hopkins out. Maybe stun a little. Knock out, I don't think so.

Damn, you've got a point there, Winky is not known for his power.

I would have liked to see a rematch with Winky with no headbutts allowed. Surely that huge gash over Winky's eye affected him for most of that fight.

He wasn't looking to KO Lacy. It's much more punishing to go 12 hard rounds being battered around the ring like a rag doll than getting KO'd. The way Joe handled that fight was perfection. I would go as far as saying it's a masterpiece.

Maybe, doing that to someone doesn't make much sense to me though. I watched it again on Setanta and I thought Joe was trying mildy hard to K.O him.

Joe punished Lacy in that fight for all the smacktalk him and Fatty Shaw done beforehand. I think it wouldn't have taken much for the ref to have stepped in, Joe could easily have gotten Lacy outta there if he wanted to. Quite sadistic really.

                No chance in my opinion.

I don't see a stoppage but if one happens it's B-Hops on JC and it hurts me to say that. lol

I don't know about the Lacy fight.

Joe didn't get the stoppage but that is more to do with Lacy's corners blatant disregard of their man's welfare. They froze, **** themselves, and put their man in danger.

Lacy's corner should have thrown in the towel that night, there boy was getting a beat down. Jeff Lacy could have ended up like Gerald McClellan for **** sake! Yes that bad!

maybe the 8th..... IIRC.... definitely in the 12th.

Jeff took what was thrown at him and stayed up....

a KO looks good on the record..... Joe knows this........ he wanted Lacy out of there, he just couldnt make it happen.

yes, it was a good beatdown....... but to say that Cal***gy wouldnt have preferred to knock Jeff out is plum ****** and ridiculous.

and your fanboy style is going into Chris Crocker levels. if Cal***gy walked into your living room and offered you his **** to suck, we both know you would accept his offer in 0.00000000000000000000000001 of a second.
Immature posts like this, very obviously written by a young pup who is obsessed with sex, ****s, ****sexuality, and bases insults on these things, are exactly why boxing forums suck most of the time. The thing is, you're dealing with a man who not only is very much beyond those kind of insults, but is also completely unaffected by them, therefore, they are pointless.

Fortunately, about 10% of the members of this forum right here are worth sticking around for.

As for the things you wrote which weren't trying to "own" me or insult me, you're wrong. Calzaghe's hands wouldn't allow him to KO Jeff that night. That's the reason he didn't. Had it been in the days before his hand injuries, he would have KO'd Jeff. He wasn't looking for the KO because he didn't want to risk further injury, and when a fight like that is going your way, there's no real need to.
