Calzaghe still will deserve credit as Hopkins is not your average 43 year old, and Joe is no spring chicken himself in his mid 30s, but it is clear that Hopkins at 43 isn't as good as he used to be. There's a reason why Hopkins throws a punch every eon. Older fighters have to conserve their energy and pick their spots more. They can still do some of the brilliant things, but only in flashes.

Hopkins has had to adapt, and has done well in this regard thanks to his all around skills and intelligence and work ethic. He fought a great fight against Tarver, but I don't think the Hopkins of a few years earlier loses to Jermaine Taylor.

Hopkins's workrate has been crap since the 3rd Allen fight, with the exception of the Wright fight, which a lot of that was short punches while in the clinch.

Calzaghe will never get rid of it, but please just give him some credit for the Hopkins win.

FFS, what does Joe have to do, this is the fight people wanted to see him in, but there will still be MANY, MANY doubters.

        what was Lacy's best win??

        what was Kessler's biggest test?

        How old is Hopkins?

don't bother making excuses before the fight has even started.

As long as we're off topic, let's talk about how ordinary a fighter Roy Jones Jr would have been without steroids.

That's almost twice as many punches as he threw in the first Taylor fight.

Is he really slowing down as everyone is saying?

B-Hop is always in shape and doesn't have a lot of damage on him so the age excuse would be bull****. Joe C has proven himself to be an A class fighter so nobody can use that overrated **** to discredit Nard if he beats Joe.
