I think it's a real shame Joe waited till he was 36 before coming stateside. Don't get me wrong, he's still very good, but I get the feeling he'll be ridiculed for beating Hopkins (even though it's two P4Ps getting it on).

Now if he fights (and beats) Pavlik, that could the respect he deserves.

Cals resume is poor with only Lacy C-B grade , Eubanks very faded A grade , and Kessler A- grade , thats it , no one else is worth a **** when Joe fought them only Bika but he is C+
Thanks for the report card Principal Nimrod.

Is anybody else supremely irritated by no-marks talking about fighters being "A+" or "C-"?

What I find ****** is how Calzaghe keeps discrediting Hopkins due to his age. It's making himself look bad. It's making victory redundant. "Father time has to catch up with him some time". It's like Joe is saying yes he will win but he will need some help from father time.

Joe is a very silly boy. He should be hyping Hop up as a LIVING LEGEND and far from being over the hill he just came off 2 of the biggest wins of his career. Instead he's calling him an old man. That begs the question, 'Why are you fighting an old man?'

Hopkins wins on Saturday night, for my money. Too clever. Calzaghe only knows one way to fight. Very rarely have I seen him strategize. though in the Kessler fight he did make a welcome adjustment after the first third of the fight to negate Kessler's power and strength. But against Hopkins hows he gonna negate technical mastery and pot shotting? He can't.

I mean Joe is going to square up and get hit often straight down the pipe. To compare the two resumes is crazy to me Hopkins resume after 40 is better thans Joes whole career.
              ***************************************

exactly!!!! as a matter of fact, i hear analysts say it all the time, "joey c doesn't get the respect b/c he's in a division where there are no great fighters....." so cleaning out the super middles aint no accomplishment, and mikkel kessler hasn't fought bute. won't even fight miranda. kessler is not a "great fighter" once and for all, calzaghe hasn't beat any, and that's the GOD honest truth. even his fans gotta start admitting that.

A 31 year old Chris Eubank is a tougher fight than a 43 year old Hopkins any day of the week.
Hatton is just an english hype job, a fraud that's made a ton of money. Never seen so much press propaganda from the english limies over 1 fighter. Calzaghe and other big UK fighter like steve collins didn't get this level of press propaganda 'cause they're not english.

                      * I reckon Joe wanted to go to the staes earlier in his career to get the big fights but Frank Warren wouldn't let it happen cause he didn't want his prize fighter to go to the states and risk getting beaten on the biggest stage FACT!

                      Frank Warren's a ****!!!!!!!!
thats what i've been saying for ages now....................i couldn't agree more...........
