What was the source of this information Warren ? we also have reports here of Mundine putting offers to Cal and he didnt want it yet fights Bika and Manfredo , probably Khoders bull**** ,,,, Im very sceptical about promoters and their bull**** , you dont see Joe saying Benard and Roy backed out in any live conference call while Benny is in the room even when Bhop puts it on him for not fighting in the US already and even when Hopkibs said Cal was forced into this fight , Cal still dont say they backed out earlier , you would think he would if that was the case ,,,, promoters say any bull**** and then its in the papers then its quoted in forums as fact .

yea it doesn't take a fool to see why hopkins wouldn't fight joe in 2002. first of all, he had just come off the biggest win in his career, and was reigning middleweight champ for 10 years, and you want him to go to england to fight joe??? plus, on top of that, joe wasn't even known then, still isn't a houseold name now, and if hops had lost to a no-namer, whether he was good or not, he would've lost all credibility he worked so hard to get b4 the trinidad fight. easy assessment. i doubt seriously he was "afraid" of joe. like some1 said, the guy spent 5 years in prison, he aint scared to "box" nobody. if anything it was a calculated business move.......but better late than never, and 1 thing hopkins loves to do is prove every1 wrong, so he's taking a fight against an undefeated champ, who most ppl are saying he can't beat. hopkins relishes this type of ****. easy win saturday. he wont ko joe in 5, but expect this fight to go something like the mayweather-hatton fight. not b/c its british versus american, but moreso an imitation of the same style of fighters.
u got a guy that likes to some forward and pressure other fighters, and that's his strength. however that may work with good, sompetitive fighters, it won't work with a great defensive fighter, who's best offense is to capitalize on your mistakes on offense. you pay attention to that fight, floyd didn't "combo" hatton apart, he one punched his ass apart the whole night until hatton got frustrated, thn got dumb, then got his ass ko'ed. this will be the same thing. ko ratios don't matter, ppl thought i was crazy when i said pbf would end up ko'ing hatton. "he has no power" or "hatton is undefeated, never been ko'ed." same thing here. a great defensive fighter and ring general, with DECENT power just has an upper hand against guys like hatton and joe c, whose best weapon is their offense. take that away, they get frustrated, will try some ****, and get hurt.............Comment
