He's just a naturally stronger, bigger guy who knows how to use his larger frame and power to his advantage. Tito cannot use his weight to his advantage when it's above a certain limit, just as Hatton can't above 140. Anything more is just gonna slow them down, same as it did Winky.

Joe Calzaghe, on the other hand, is a large super middle who's natural weight is around 196 pounds (14 stones), and that's with keeping in shape all year round. He won't be pushed around. This is gonna be a much tougher fight for Bernard than Winky, Trinidad, and Oscar combined, especially since Bernard thinks Calzaghe slaps.

Some people just won't see it any other way man. The most famous names on Bernard's resume happen to have originally started out as 135 and 140 pounders who never did well stepping up in weight. When Trinidad went past 154, he got 3 losses on his record. Oscar's best work was done at 147. Winky was way better as a junior middleweight.

      And so on.

Yeah, you can make an argument for those who says he bullies smaller fighters to get big names on his resume.
The DLH was not bully situation until Nard landed the body shot in round 9. In fact, Oscar was doing very well. It was a boxing match. The Trinidad fight was just Bernard's skills were way better Titos. Tito had no answer for his movement and defense.

But with all due respect, did it really have anything to do with using power? I've seen that fight a million times and I see Hopkins using movement and defense. Then he countered and made Tito pay for his lack of defense. I didn't see Hopkins fighting Mike Tyson style and using his size/power to **** Tito out early.

Bottom line: Oscar went down via KO because he couldn't take the power. Am I right?

Tito is over rated anyway. I'm sorry, Tito fans. I do agree, Bernard has more skills. But Tito looked puny next to him in the ring. He is naturally a smaller build.

Do you honestly think prime Hopkins could have beaten prime Tito (or DLH for that matter) at 147?

Thats true. But that could have happened if the fighter was DLH's size, right? LOL. I quit man. FRKO, you've been a good sport. I don't want to drive you nuts.

Truth, you're not driving me nuts one bit bro, if you were, I would walk away from this discussion.

Who knows, maybe if DLH was a bigger guy he might have been used to fighting in higher weight classes, taking bigger punches and absorbing them, and then Bernard's killer body shot wouldn't have been so much of a problem. I dunno man, I was never 100% clear cut on the smaller opponents thing. As I said, I do think the guys accusing Nard of bullying small dudes have a point, but Hops is a skilled fighter, too, I can't take that away from him because I am a fan, when all is said and done. Let's just say I think his resume is not quite as good as it's made out to be. It's just my opinion. Doesn't mean I don't respect the guy, he's a great champion and probably a much nicer guy than he comes across as. I think he has a big heart and it's in the right place.

Your right. People that make the small opponent argument do have legitimate reason to question his accomplishments. I just don't like the ones who basically say Hopkins is a fraud, that I don't believe.

Nah, he ain't a fraud. Could have done a few things better, maybe, but a fraud? I doubt it. Let's see how he handles Calzaghe though. That's a major test at 43 years old, even though some people think Bernard will win easy. It ain't gonna be easy for either man. I just hope they stay safe and no one gets damaged.

Bernard had always that physicality against his opponents, working them on the inside well. Its a size difference in terms of physicality. There aint no way 2 welters like tito & oscar could rough house ol' b-hop.
