Bernard Hopkins Is Not A Bully...

Hopkins is not a guy that relies on power so how is he a bully for beating up on Tito and DLH? Hopkins is all skill...Thats why the DLH was actually doing good at first because Hopkins is not some bully who is way stronger and can just over power DLH. Oscar was able to match him skill wise. Nard out powered him in the end but if that body shot didn't happen it could have went to a decision. What I'm saying is Hopkins is a boxer not a slugger so how is he a bully for beating smaller opponents? Its not like he does it in a bully fashion really, he uses boxing smarts. I think he would have done the same thing to Tito if he was 2-3 inches shorter.

does anyone know what I'm saying?

^ alot of people say Hopkins was a bully that only won against smaller fighters because of his size. I don't know if I believe that, because his method for winning always seemed to be his technical boxing skills.

Hopkins started his career at 175 lbs and gets way too much credit for beating a guy that won a title at 130 lbs and a guy that was at his best at 147 lbs. Add in an extremely weight drained Tarver and a fight with Winky, 16 lbs above the weight Winky won any titles and who is left?

But was it Bernard's size that beat Tito and Oscar or his skill?

At least Hopkins wasn't fighting those b-grade fighters that Calzaghe got away with fighting in europe.

His smarts and skills is what picked Tito apart. So was it really a size issue? If Hopkins was 2-3 inches shorter would it have mattered? Not much.IMO

If Mayweather fights David Haye and gets knocked into a coma, is it Haye's skill that beat him?

Well, whoever says this has a point. He punished the smaller opponents he took on. Tito was TKO's, and Oscar was KO'd. Winky was kinda bullied, pushed around and headbutted, although he's not so small as Tito and Oscar, he was around 10-15 pounds above his best fighting weight.

Some people just won't see it any other way man. The most famous names on Bernard's resume happen to have originally started out as 135 and 140 pounders who never did well stepping up in weight. When Trinidad went past 154, he got 3 losses on his record. Oscar's best work was done at 147. Winky was way better as a junior middleweight.

                  And so on.

Yeah, you can make an argument for those who says he bullies smaller fighters to get big names on his resume.

No because hes way bigger and stronger. Haye has 20 KOs in 21 fights. Hopkins was the same weight as Tito and didn't use his power. That was a technical showing of boxing skills that Hopkins used to beat Tito.
