It cracks me up that Hopkins always talks about "dying in the ring"...

Fair enough... but when I think of fighters who seem to take the sport in a life-and-death fashion, Hopkins definately isn't at the top of the list.

Someone like Antonio Margarito or Edison Miranda would come to mind.

Guys who think about a decision only after the 12th round is over. Their viewpoint is that if they do enough good work fighting their ****ing ass off, and trying to get their guy out of there unsuccessfully, the decision will take care of itself.

God I hate ****ing pricks like you. You type like such a ***** who's never stepped into a ****ing ring in his life. Hopkins goes in against other elite trained world-class fighters trained to DO DAMAGE with 8 ounce gloves on, and you haven't the faintest ****ing clue as to what that means.

          Go watch another sport.

            Hopkins fights..

head butts, hits you on the hip.. makes it a dirty fight....
Okay, point taken. I guess those things really don't score you points for a round.

Still though, watching him in a couple of rounds with Howard Eastman, where he didn't throw a punch is what came to mind when he talks about boxing being a life-and-death sport for him.

Maybe I do have a ****ed up view of this though.

Thanks douchebag. It's not a question of whether he takes the sport seriously, but comparatively he is not the first person I would think of when I hear about a fighter who doesn't consider it a sport.

                    I've seen lots of Hopkins.

He also made the comment when he past 40 years old.
