Because he fights in such a conservative manner, that he rarely ever even KO's anyone.

He always talks about him taking the sport as a battle of life and death, when in fact, 90% of elite fighters seem to fight in a more aggressive manner than he does. It looks to me like he fights to score points, which wins him rounds, and nothing more.

Naazim Richardson said that he would probably fight some of the animals in the Philadelphia Zoo if he got the chance during the Hopkins-Wright countdown. When I heard that, I thought, "What the **** is he going to do, outpoint the animals in a snoozefest?"

Hopkins may be boring and maybe doesn't always go for the KO, but that's not what kills you, it's the fighter you're going against that matters. Just cause he's conservative and not a KO artist doesn't mean the other guy isn't.

He said that he (Hopkins) doesn't view it as a sport, but better their life than his.

People who view a fight as a fight, and not just as a competitive activity where someone wins and loses don't just try to put rounds in the bank IMO.

He didnt always fight like that.

Check out his beatings on Trinidad and Glenn Johnson, that type of beating could really hurt some fighters

Would you believe Mayweather if he talked about dying in the ring and viewing boxing as a life-and-death fight rather than a sport? I think both of them try to win the decision way before they ever think about stopping their opponent.

well, at first he would walk up to the cage and say, "I would NEVER let a Cottontop Tamarin beat me. NEVER!" Then he would proceed into the cage and isolate the Tamarin's best offensive attributes such as raising the hair on the crown of their head.

It's different when you're actually in the ring, to you he may seem boring but the intense things that go through Hopkins head during the fight will make it seem as if it is a real fight.

Hopkins doesnt try to put rounds in the bank, he tires to break you down, not throw one big shot and land a KO...90% of the time trying 2 land a big KO shot isnt effective..

                    Hopkins fights..

head butts, hits you on the hip.. makes it a dirty fight....
