This might sound weird but it feels sometimes as if your favorite fighter is fighting for you....maybe somebody else can word it better...

one of the many things that i love about boxing is all the history behind it. that fact makes the sport of boxing to have a very strong backbone, and that is one of the reasons boxing will never die, and also that gives this sport that special thing that none of the other combat sports have.

How about... incentive to perform because the fans pay the fighters' salaries through PPV, as well as watching on regular HBO/Showtime/ESPN (because they need ratings to get those time slots or move up to PPV status), and gate admissions.

You also do feel quite a connection to your favorite fighter, because they usually do fight the way you like, and unlike in team sports, your favorite fighter doesn't trade away your favorite player. The only person you like is the boxer, and he will never change.

What i love about boxing is that it is an individual sport. Unlike team sports were boxers are not hidden behind jersery or gear when they are performing. in a sense they are out there naked; baring there soul to everyone to see. What will every one see, honor? courage? arrogance? fear? You can not hide the emotion a boxer feeling in the ring with a helmet.

Sure a boxer has a team behind him and fans but once he is in the ring. He is the only one he can count on to secure victory. No one else to blame, no one else to hide behind or to pick up your slack.

Also what I love about boxing is the limited of tools boxers have to figth. Just two hands and with those two hands there is many different styles a fighter can use to win a fight. Each style has its limitations. how does a boxer go about overcoming those limitations to secure the victory. Does he play its safe? Or does he takes risks?

Boxing is a universal, international sport well known throughout the world. In today's global economy Boxing is one of, it not the only sport, that can reach all four corners of the planet. Superpowers and third world nations alike can boast representation and excellence in the sport of Boxing. It is truly a human sport. A sport of kings and of common men! There is no other sport than can teach us more about the human heart, mind body and spirit. Amen.

I'd be gutted if this wasn't in the presentation.

But in all seriousness, boxing is better than other sports because anybody can compete. You got a person like Sultan Ibragimov who looks like Barney Rubble and ended up becoming a heavyweight titlist at one point. Then you have Hasim Rahman, a man who didn't even have amateur experience and ended up KO'ing Lennox Lewis, then you have the current IBF & WBO champion Klitschko who has a Ph.D., etc.

Boxing differs from others sports because it is the only one i can think 0f (besides wrestling and mma) that doesnt use some sort of ball or outside object. It is a true test of someone's heart and fights can end in a variety of different ways, this is not true for many sports. I also think part of the reason many people enjoy watching boxing is simply because they like seeing the physical toll the fight takes on people (casual fans at least), almost like how people cant keep their eyes off of a car wreck or something. Lastly as some people have mentioned, it has to be one of, if not the most physically demanding sports. Generally, if you come into the ring out of shape, you are going to get rocked, this is not true for many sports.
