Cornering Mayweather

LOL...I didn't call you out. You called me out. We can let it slide if you're willing to. I'm being a gentleman about it because I know the Floyd haters are angry right now. Hey it happens sometimes.
That said, both Cotto and Mayweather are fighting low risk, high reward fights right now. Only Floyd is doing it against future HOFers and Miguel is doing it against reality stars and a guy who is famous for claiming to be the most feared man in boxing in spite of his Kermit Cintron thin resume.
But hypocrisy is hypocrisy. I don't know why y'all insist on being mad at Floyd Mayweather. I'd be mad at Bob Arum and I wish Cotto would just go do his own thing. He'd have had the Oscar fight in May if he weren't with Arum.Comment

I could see Hatton beating Margarito. I'm not going to put a bet on it because I could see Margarito beating Hatton too. But don't get all ****y because Oscar would wipe the ring with Margarito the same way he did with Mayorga and Hatton would wipe the ring with Gomez.
You're over here talking about Floyd is taking low risk, high reward fights...at least they're against HOF calibre fighters. Look at the low risk, high reward fights Cotto is fighting this year. Gomez ain't going to Canastota unless he pays his own admission. And Margarito? He better beat both Cotto and Mayweather if he even wants to breath Canastota.
Well one thing that is a fact, Margarito has challenged DLH repeatedly, and Oscar acts like he didn't even hear him. Mayorga couldn't wipe Margarito's ass. He is a name fighter that stars use to look good against. Oscar is still a star but he is well past his overrated prime. Margarito batters him all over the ring. What Hatton beating Alfonso Gomez has to do with this is lost on me.
If Hatton makes the HOF, it will be for what he accomplished at 140. His welterweight record is well short of HOF worthy. You can't really believe that Margarito is a low risk, high reward fight for Cotto? No, seriously.Comment

You keep telling yourself that.Your first mistake is comparing Margarito to Mayorga. Totally different fighters. And Arum matches Margarito carefully? Are you ****ing kidding? He has trouble getting him fights. When has Oscar fought a guy with Margarito's style? He is the one who picks his opponents carefully. Arum didn't want AM to fight Williams because he wanted to do the Cotto fight instead, since he promotes both fighters and would make more money.Comment

explain how i called you out? anytime someone counters what you say, thats calling you out? and how am i a "Floyd hater"? I keep getting called that and I keep asking people to prove how I'm a hater and no one ever does. I guess i'm not supposed to be able to criticize anyone but rather blindly praise any decisions all the time? Like i said, hypocrisy always starts with Floyd's devoted fanatics. Only Floyd is allowed to do the things Floyd has done and in that manner.LOL...I didn't call you out. You called me out. We can let it slide if you're willing to. Let me ask you a question and see if you have an answer; ready?Well one thing that is a fact, Margarito has challenged DLH repeatedly, and Oscar acts like he didn't even hear him. If Margarito was always just looking for a big fight for pretty good money why did he turn down offers to fight Winky Wright and Vernon Forrest?Comment

Post #27 on this thread, but I understand that you're upset. I'm not going to make a big deal out of it. If you want to though you can just let me know. I told you I was going to let it slide. You're the one who seems to think it's a big deal.explain how i called you out? anytime someone counters what you say, thats calling you out? and how am i a "Floyd hater"? I keep getting called that and I keep asking people to prove how I'm a hater and no one ever does. I guess i'm not supposed to be able to criticize anyone but rather blindly praise any decisions all the time? Like i said, hypocrisy always starts with Floyd's devoted fanatics. I'm just postulating here, so don't take this personal; people probably call you a hater because you want to point the finger at the Floyd fans. Go to boxrec and look at the first five years of Floyd's career and then look at the first five years of Miguel's career. Then look at their careers from that point on. Floyd has it harder earlier then took his break.
Cotto has had a lot of tough fights recently, but his resume isn't any better than Floyd's was at this point in his career. It's not surprising because they had the same promoter. But to say hypocrisy starts with Floyd fanatics is to miss the point that the career paths are very similar...almost identical. Unless Miguel recently signed a long term deal with Top Rank he'd be well served to take the next step that both Oscar and Floyd did and get out of his deal with Top Rank.
Not just the boxing world, but the world of sports would be better off if Cotto were independent. Arum is like a father who wants to control his children who he believes owe him everything they have. He consistently derides DLH and PBF because they are "ungrateful." I'd bet that he thinks Cotto is "grateful" if only based on the simple fact that he's loyally remained promoted by Top Rank.
Don't get me wrong. What Arum says about DLH and PBF not being where they are right now without him is probably true. BUT they are the fighters. Cotto probably wouldn't be where he is now without Arum. Pacquiao probably wouldn't be where he is now without Arum. BUT they are where they are now and they wouldn't be there without their own skill.
So, Cotto really should leave the first chance he gets. It'd open up doors that were never open to him before just as it did for DLH and PBF. I'm not saying he will. I doubt he will, but he should. He's the fighter and he's gotten to the point where he deserves control over his career.Comment
