I have no choice, but to respect the fact that he actually does know what fights are being negotiated at HBO. What do you think I am dude? Do you really think I'm going to let my opinion of him as an analyst cloud my judgement of his access to fighters, fight negotiations, etc? That would be ******ed. He works at HBO and not as an intern. He has insider knowledge.

And you're trying to discredit that by pointing out that I didn't like the way he dissed Shane Mosley after the Adrian Stone fight? Dude give me a fu(king break. He's Jim Grey with a fan base. I can think Jim Grey is a weasly little punk who has insider knowledge. So, I can think the same thing about Larry Merchant.

Promoters make and turn down offers everday. They also lie about other supposed offers. Especially if they are from poor drawing veterans in higher weight divisions. Your point was really irrelevant. Tell me about the welterweight fights that the "carefully protected" Margarito turned down.

Does he or does he not want to fight the names? He, Cintron and Williams are huge for the weight class. If there were same day weigh ins they wouldn't even be able to make the weight. Staying in a low weight class just because you know the majority of the fighters are so much smaller than you is a form of protection. There are 17 weight classes in boxing.

Margarito could move up and fight in a weight class where everyone is his size if he wanted to. There were fights that HBO would have accepted that would have paid him good money. He didn't do it because he knew his lesser skills would put him at a disadvantage in a higher weight class. Whereas his size advantage give him a chance to be competitive with the top 10 at 147. That's a form of protection and careful match making.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Mayweather could have stayed at 130 but he went up in weight. So, the day Margarito goes up to 168 and takes on all challengers is the day I'll buy his theory that he was always willing to fight anyone, anytime, anywhere and no one else was willing to give him a fight. I know that's not true because he wouldn't even go up to 154 for a few good fights.

Like you said, this happens all the time. But it's hypocritical to call Floyd out on it and not hold Margarito to the same standard.

Contradiction. No man. That's BS. You want to say I'm contradicting myself, but then say your time has expired. That's bull man. I didn't even contradict myself. I said Cotto and Margarito fans selectively swear by Larry Merchant and he has insider knowledge.

You tried to disprove that by pointing out that I think Larry Merchant needs to back off on his criticism about fighters after their fights. How on God's green Earth is that a contradiction. The man does have insider knowledge. You want me to deny that just because I don't like him!?! You must be out of your mind.

Why is everyone on Mayweathers back...goodness.

He'll fight Cotto when he gest bigger............

Cottos fighting Margarito.........thats a great matchup.

Lets see if Cotto can past that test before we all scream for him to fight Floyd......You never know a fight with ODH even after Floyd beats him September 20th will be an option for Cotto...Cottos trainer said it himself" A fight with ODH is more attracive then Mayweather right now".....

Cotto vs. Mayweather will happen if Cottos stays undefeated.............

              Be patient people.

He wants to be the best welterweight in the world. Winky and Forrest would take a Mayweather fight in a minute over one with Margarito. Your the one setting the double standard. Floyd stayed at the lower weights as long as he could. He is a solid welterweight now and I'm sick of his fans playing the "poor little Floyd" card.

I can't be patient with world champions who only fight once a year against the same guy they beat last year. Either be a real champion or vacate your title.

Fighitng Judah after back to back losses and a year suspension means your a real champion???

Floyds the best fighter in the world he earned his right to the throne and worked his way up...Cotto needs to do the same and Floyd will meet you at the top.

If you're fighting every three months, then you don't have to have top contenders each time. You seem to have missed Quintana in your carefully chosen list. Doesn't look so bad now, does it? Mosley is a future hall of famer and every bit as good as Oscar (who is almost as old). I bet you didn't have a problem with Floyd fighting Judah coming off a loss. So next is Margarito. Will that be good enough to meet Floyd at the top? If there is still another step to being worthy of him, please name who he has to snuff out after that.
