That wouldn't be so bad apart from Cortez was allowing Floyd to hold and hit. He just wasn't letting Hatton do the same. The refereeing was unfair and that's the beef.

Hatton thinks he can beat Mayweather, that's why he wants the fight. Mayweather has the opportunity for a very lucrative fight against Hatton in an outdoor stadium in front of a hundred thousand fans, that's why he'll grant the fight.

I agree, the ref had little to do with Hatton being a human punching bag in that fight.

He thinks Joe Cortez didn't let him fight "his fight", which of course means mauling, wrestling, and grabbing i.e. nothing related to boxing.

Actually, I think Cortez helped Ricky in a way. RH was getting ZERO accomplished inside. I don't recall Ricky landing a single effective blow in the clinches, and FMJ was actually doing the mauling, and digging in bodyshots.

In fact, Roger told Floyd not to move away because he was hurting Hatton inside.

But if RH wants a rematch, he is going to take very short dollars for it.

"Close enough to warrant a rematch" would indicate that RH can change something about his fight plan that would change the outcome.

The fight was NOWHERE NEAR close. The Floyd/Oscar fight was at least a close match, and I don't really have a problem with a close fight or split decision resulting in a rematch. Hatton was a plodding punching bag that was not allowed to fight illegally, and Floyd showed exactly what happens to Hatton when Hatton is not allowed to hold and hit. So I ask, why the **** does Hatton think he deserves a rematch with Floyd?
