I will be honest with you all.

I really thought the talks of a hatton v. mayweather rematch was just that; talk.

However now we're seeing clear indications that it isnt just talk.

    I'm 100% AGAINST this rematch.

It's not warranted at this time or possibly never.

Yes i can see why hatton wants the rematch; he's the pride of england and undefeated up until the mayweather fight and so on.

However i dont think fighting at 140 or in england, with a smaller ring; etc. etc. etc. is going to change the outcome of the fight.

Floyd will STILL win. best scenario for hatton is that it goes to the scorecards but even then floyd wins by UD.

Before the first fight i gave hatton a chance (considering his speed/workrate and ability to bully on the inside) a small chance; but a chance.

once the fight began it was apparently clear within the first round who was the better fighter.

floyd outclassed him at nearly every turn.

he landed at a ridiculously high percentage and ended up knocking hatton out (something most didnt think would happen). and even before the knockdown he was very easily winning rounds. i think hatton only got 2 rounds (dont remember for sure) on my scorecard before the knockout.

besides; there is so many other fights that can be made that are far superior to this rematch.

Floyd is looking at great oppertunites right now; the rematch with oscar (the big money fight); the winner of cotto v. margarito (that satisfys the hardcore boxing fans) and (even though some dont agree; i think its a great oppertunity) Manny Pacquiao at a catch weight (that makes EVERYONE happy; floyd gets his money; casual fans get two "names", and we get two extremely talented fighters who just happen to lockdown the top spots of the p4p list).

why fight hatton now? he has so many other direction he can go that would be a LOT better.

all those not in favor of the rematch should start pulling for paulie malignaggi to beat him.

thats probably the only way this rematch wont come off (or not for a good while at least).

floyd needs to fight the winner of cotto and marg full stop. if he fought hatton at 140, 160, 200 lbs wouldnt matter what weight they fought at hatton would get an asskicking again and would be more humiliated, you'd think going face first into a turnbuckle would put him off but he seems to want some more................

          its a big money fight.
it will be at an outdoor stadium in london.
Hatton atleast has the chance for revenge.

In fairness to Floyd and Ricky, if Floyd were to take this fight, it'd be the best Jnr Welterweight that he's ever fought. It'd also be a tougher fight than the last one and taking place in the UK it'd make more money than any other fight out there for Floyd and Hatton (excepting DLH).

In what way does it not make sense?

what makes him think he can make the demands after being destroyed?
Because Hatton can offer Floyd something that no other fighter in the world can. An outdoor stadium fight in front of 100,000 fans. Even De La Hoya can't offer that.

I think Floyd would win, maybe by a wide UD rather than KO, unless Ricky loses his temper like last time. The other posters have already covered the main reason behind a rematch.....Money and the chance of fighting in front of a massive crowd in the UK (60,000 plus), if he does the job well, he might find he gets some more fans out of the experience (once the dust has settled)

I don't fall into the trap of being a Floyd hater, the only effect he has on me as a fan is frustration that we don't get to see him in action against the other names at 147. I think he is incredibly gifted, its just that his ego sometimes blinds you to the fact that he is a great fighter. There are a number of fighters that I have hated as a person, but I've forced myself to put that to one side and look at the boxer beneath, a prime example is Eubank a complete **** that made a fool of himself every time he opened his mouth, yet under that buffoon was a fighter with immense amounts of heart and courage.
