I think you boys are getting overly concerned about this, possibly embellishing a bit. Possibly making a mountain out of a mole hill.

What do you tnink about the results it's been getting?

I winced every time he hit Gomez with his jab and left hook - and sure enough Alfonso's face was ****ed up in no time. From some jabs? In like 2 rounds?? I know dude is a strong, good hitter - but this sport has, and has had, plenty of good strong hitters and these kinds of results are bizarre.

I won't lie, this subject makes me, and I'm sure everyone else extremely uncomfortable... Cotto is a great talent, no need for this **** if that what's going on. Sincerely, I hope I'm wrong about this.
You could have a point I guess. I've seen his gloves in past fights and at the beginning his gloves do look very tightly wrapped. But this then goes to our lovely, non-corrupted, state run boxing commissions to sort out and not look the other way for certain fighters in the dressing room when these gloves are being put on. I'm a Cotto fan so I hope what your saying isn't true...

Most fighters don't do it because it isn't effective. At best, it works for about half a round, at worst, it cuts of circulation to your hands and makes it very uncomfortable.

Help me out, who are some of the other fighters who do it?

                Got it.

Yeah I figured it was to make the foam above the knuckles compressed so the impact would be with more force and less cushioning of the blow. It makes sense if the glove is pulled tight the foam would be compressed as well but like you said in an earlier post as the fight went on the glove would lose the skinning effect pretty quickly.

I was thinking if there ws a way to make it more permanent, like by forcibly compressing the foam under high pressure to make it less effective.

Perfect example of skinning, and also a perfect example of how the tape has already stretched and the skinning has lost its effect.

No difference? That tape isn't even touching the label.

Look at the shape of the glove. It's absolutely crushed, dense with pressure.
