cottos a great fighter. If theres a big upset tonight ill still say hes a great fighter. Hes fighting great oposition now. Sugar shane and judah are obviously huge names to have wins over and i think gomez is a great matchup.

For one Cotto has an unique opportunity to get a jump to the number one status, yes that is floyd mayweather. But he needs to get to him FIRST. Lets face it, Floyd is getting older. He's 31 and his style relies as much on speed and sharp reflexes as Roy Jones' did. Meaning he will start losing soon provided he keeps fighting. Whoever beats him, no matter in what condition, will be seen as the new star, whoever he is, that's how big mayweather got. Cotto losing would throw him right back with the likes of Citron, Margarito and Williams, which isn't a bad place to be, not at all, but it's not quite THE spot he wants. Besides, judging by how often cotto gets hit, if he is to lose it won't be pretty and he will have trouble bouncing back.

They can't get the fight with Mayweather. Have you heard? Let's not go in circles here.. You didn't read what I wrote. Top Rank doesn't have overwhelming faith in him. Clearly, you have more faith in Cotto than I'm referring to.. Either that or there is a blindspot in your awareness.

Understand something; Top Rank believes that Cotto could potentially fall to anyone.. Clottey, Cintron, ect. That is why Arum has been so desperate to make the matchup with Mayweather, now. That is why Arum has been saying that Floyd will "..never, ever, ever, ever fight Cotto, blah, blah.."

You said it youself here in the end of this post.. ^ Confused?
