Mundine as a natural big guy will carry a lot of power at MW, but why leave one of the best divisions for one with less competition?

I guess i answered my own question.

He actually could unify lol. Thats why. At SMW he was no chance. Even if he beat Kessler, Calzaghe would come down and smack his arse.

At MW, he can do anything he wants.

Yeah, rather then compete with the best in one of the top divisions, he'd rather take the easy option challenging the smaller guys.

Don't get me wrong, i think Mundine is great, but maybe he knows himself he will never be top dog with such guys a Kessler, Bute, Taylor, Miranda, Lacy, Froch etc. parading the division......compared with the tough Pavlik, durable Sturm (Mundine/Sturm would be a great match-up) and Abraham.

Unifying Middleweight with Pavlik's reign is no easy task, considering Taylor had 2 attemps against him (IMO, Taylor is a better all-rounder then Mundine) but Abraham and Sturm shouldn't trouble him as much. Who knows.
