this journalist makes no sense... in the article he says "Cintron, unlike the other welterweight champions like Miguel Cotto and Carlos Quintana, was born in the United States and not in Puerto Rico. Because he was born in the States, Cintron has not gained the Puerto Rican fanbase that follows fighters like Cotto and Quintana."

Then Cintron says,
"I was born in Carolina. I am Puerto Rican 100%."...

1 of 2 things... either Cintron is a liar or this journalist is way off. I can clear this up... Cintron was DEFINITELY born in Puerto Rico, because i was in his 4th grade class (Ms. Hart) the day he moved to warminster, PA from Puerto rico after his mom passed away and he couldnt speak a word of english.

does this journalist not have an editor or someone who checks his facts?

I didn't know life started from the fourth grade. He is 100% Puerto Rican as in his parents, granparents, etc. were born in PR however he was born in either Northern or Southern Carolina.

the last guy cintron fought, feliciano? cintron busted his right hand and was instructed by his trainer (manny steward) from rounds 2-8 to let feliciano inside and to let him punch himself out. If jesse had had any power cintron would not have fought the way he did. he fought with a strategy to win. sometimes, when you get injured and have to change things on the fly you wont look as good, but he got the KO.

Lol. Be realistic? This is boxing guy. Anyone with power has a chance at turning ANY fight around. As much as you know, which I doubt you even know. Tony's defense is suspect, and Cintron has been counter punching very well.

So yea. You're getting ahead of yourself there. Styles make fights. Tony doesn't have a style that's gonna frustrate Cintron, unless he stays inside and ****s with him.

If Cintron gets inside it isn't gonna frustrate him. He will get knocked out period. How can you be frustrated when you're getting tagged and about to be knocked out? He can crumble under pressure, but only if Cintron lets Tony inside. This is where counter punching will pay off and using the ring.

Cintron isn't a boxer, he's not technically sound, what he does have is power and a hell of right I give him that. He's not going to be able to box Tony because he's going pressure him the whole night and he won't have any room to hide. If Cintron chooses to box Tony and utilize his jab to keep him off him, Tony is just going walk through that **** and find his openings. Cintron has a lazy jab and I doubt he somehow miraculously improved for this fight. Tony is the smarter fighter, more experienced and has the edge on this fight.

yeah, but i would hope a person who makes their money as a journalist would check their facts and not make assumptions... also, do they not have any sort of editor? i know a number of journalists, personally, and if they were to ever get anything like this wrong they would be completely discredited and have a hard time finding work...
