LOL, he has records of throwing 100 a round, 1000 a fight. And no, in his own words, it's not going to happen in this fight. He's only slightly transparent about his tactics, often doesn't have many and adapts, but starting to think he's got it right.

Hopkins might aswell brush off his career because there is noway he can win when calzaghe can throw more punches in one round then hopkins will throw in the whole fight. Oh wait there hope the fair but firm ref joe cortez might decide that calzaghe throws too many punches and dock in points watch out joe he might do a hatton on ya

Like Addy said earlier Cal makes ALOT of mistakes in that ring but has been able to get away with most of it due to his chin & his natural talent. Against Hopkins you can't make many mistakes or you're gonna pay for them. And I'll say this again; I highly doubt Cal will be able to get off 1,000 punches in this fight.

Total Punches Hopkins
Landed 152
Thrown 640
Pct. 24%
that was his total punch count against wright, by the looks of things he throws more than 5 punches a round.

Hopkins has to back it up...
Again Jermain Taylor was literally dead the last 3-4 rounds of their first fight and what did Nard do? He let him off the hook, he let this young green kid who could barely stand up off the hook.
He promised that it would be different in the second fight and what did we get in the second fight? Close to the same thing.
So what has changed? He got a shot at Toney Tarver (a very lazy fighter) a guy named Wright who was fighting two weights outside his class....neither fight he was impressive in.
Do me a favor and watch Bernard Hopkins vs. Howard Eastman. This is a fight that on the cards was very close...yet Eastman never threw any punches....if you sit and stare at Bernard Hopkins he will stare back at you and in turn the fight will be very close. If you throw some punches like Jermain Taylor did then chances are you are going to get the nod in the end like Taylor did.
Bernard may look 27 against Eastman a guy who throws no punches but he didnt look 27 against Taylor in the rounds that counted, sure Wright was gassed out in their bout but Hopkins didnt look 27 in that one at any point. Watch Joe in the 11th and 12th against Brewer, Lacy, and Kessler...the guy turns it up about 6 notches when the stakes are at their highest...nothing we have seen I repeat nothing we have see from Hopkins suggests he can handle this or has ever really done this (note he was clearly losing against Jones in 93 and instead of going after it he was resigned to lose from the outside-not knocking him cuz Jones was superhuman but it is a pattern that when things are tough Nard does not come out of his comfrotable shell...I think we will see all of his years of age next saturday because of one simple fact...the man he is fighting and the style that the man he is fighting will emplore.
Does anyone think Jermain is in Calzaghes league? This has been a bad style fight for Nard not for jsut the last couple years but forever.
PREDICTION-The fight will be tactical and very close early with both men trading rounds...after four rounds Calzaghe will be warmed up and slowly begin to take control with angles, wrokrate and his legs. By round 10 it will be clear that this fight is no longer on the table with regards to the cards and in the last two rounds Calzaghe sensing little to know Danger goes at Bernard and absolutely exhausts him leading to a tactical but easy decision...something like 118-110, 117-111.

Haha, why does everyone have the elevated view of Bernard Hopkins (thats his name not BHop, he not a ****ing BMX move)?
He's been a clever fighter who has had a good career but many look upon him as if he is akin to Hagler or Ray Robinson, he's ****in not.
He lost twice in borefests to a decent but nothing special Taylor and yet you feel he will be able to handle a bigger, stronger, faster, fitter version in Joe Calzaghe???
He will give Calzaghe a few problems but trust me it will be a wide UD to Calzaghe.

I'm sick of these threads, and cant wait until its over.
