I know how Arum can just milk a cash cow dry. Manny doesn't need to waste time lowering his game with B fighters. This is my only frustration!
like it or not david diaz is belt holder and it means something. do i wish that all the ABC belts would all go away and we just have ONE world champion. of course , what boxing fan doesn't?

he's still a solid fighter WITH a belt and still rated top 10 in the division and that means something. plus manny needs a tuneup for 135. a tuneup at a higher weight class against a title belt holder is not bad right? he and marquez will fight again end of this year or beginning of next. i wouldn't be surprise if marquez doesn't take on any tough opponent either. it's just not worth a risk in jeopardizing the big money fight with manny. it's part of the game.

just curious. i'm the guy that doesn't want juan manuel to take them on right now either by the way 'cause a loss might hurt the $$$$$ for a rubber match with manny.
As a man he is not afraid of any man I believe, but I do believe Arum is trying to protect his prize against anything risking that money train. I just hate when a fighter says it's up to my promoter who I fight next. **** that control your own destiny! What ends up happening is they square them off against b level opponents and one of those b grade guys eventually get lucky and knock off the A guy. Then the A guy is highly criticized for losing to b grade fighter. I'd rather see Manny lose to Guzman than David Diaz for example. A Guzman loss would not hurt his career as much as a loss to Diaz just like JMM's career was not hurt when he loss to Manny but was devastating to his career when he lost to Chris John albeit that was a robbery.

Do you guys get where I'm coming from? Maybe I might come off as being critical of Pacman, but actually all I want is for him to set his legacy even further while he is in his prime!

guzman is good but financially not better than diaz. to the public (not knowledgable boxing fans) both are just names they've barely heard of that have belts. david however has the advantage of having a small american fanbase. this fight is to get pacman a fight at 135 and won't a manny-juan diaz or manny-casamayor or manny-campbell generate more interest if manny has a belt at 135? even a rubber match with juan manuel sounds better when the announcer declares that the fight is for the "WBC Lightweight Championship of the World!!!"

This is exactly my frustration! Financially Pacquiao could live 30 more lives comfortably in the Philippines with what he already made. Greed will always do you in! As for those other LW names I doubt they even materialize as Manny will be swayed in to a Hatton, PBF, or DLH fight.

Marquez has won both fights IMO, if he wouldn't be aggressive and get wild he would of comfortably won both fights on points.

greed is a good thing. we're not communists. greed makes people work and try harder. why take $1 million when you can get $5 million? i know it's a lot of money but if you want to look at it in a more realistic view , would you take $10 an hour job over $20? especially if the $10 an hour job is manual labor and the $20 is a cushy office job? same thing with fighters. whether it's an easier or tougher opponent they'll fight the one for money or to set up the one for more money.

pbf and dlh will never happen. maybe hatton is a possibility though but only if manny gets some belts at 135.

So you're saying that you're frustrated because fighters like Pacquiao or Corales or Gatti get get rich for putting on the kind of fights that people are actually willing to pay to watch while other potentially better skilled fighters dont get the kind of money you feel they deserve??
