    Are you serious?

i can tell you this much he is only a "good fighter" like u describe it because cotto is fighting him, if it was floyd then u would see people ***** about it as usual

gomez sucks i have seen his trilogy with jesse feliciano.

Cotto brutally beats him down. MARK MY WORDS AND I WILL BUMP THIS THREAD TO TELL YOU THAT BACKED MY WORDS UP

Gomez is a good fighter that has never been stopped before, so are telling me that there would be no significance for Cotto if he was to wipe Gomez out? It would look great for Cotto because he would have stopped a bigger opponent and quality fighter.

I'm rooting for a Gomez upset not because I dislike Cotto but just because I am a fan of the "upset" especially when not many give the other guy who has the ability to pull it off any chance.

Why would you put money on Cotto he's a big favorite just drop a bill on Gomez and root for the upset it pays better.

Also, Shane looked a lil week against Cotto. I think having all those fights at 154 and coming right back down to 147 weaken a fighter a bit. True Alfonso has done the same but he has at least had a few fights at 147 since then to slowly bring back his strength.

Gomez is a good kid and all but he's not a buster douglas and Cotto is not tyson....I see Cotto giving this kid a serious beatdown...c'mon now Gomez struggled with Ben Tackie, I see this as a mismatch that's gonna equal the Mayweather/Gatti mismatch....a lot of pple were rooting for gatti but then Mayweather brought everyone back to reality and put a serious ass whooping on Gatti...

The only big defence is Tyson had a better chin than cotto.

As long as Gomez loses with pride and honor. We'll still love him.

              Unlike that (now filipino)Erik Morales.

Is anyone else seeing the spectre of Buster Douglas here? It wouldn't be a HUGE upset, and Gomez can pull it off. I'd rather watch him than await Cotto's inevitable yanfest draw with Mayweather.

I really don't see Gomez beating Cotto...boxing wise he's not more skilled than Cotto...he doesn't hit as hard as Cotto and he's not stronger than Cotto he doesn't have and equal or close amateur experience as Cotto it doesn't matter that Gomez fought bigger guys before that means nothing Cotto is known for being a strong fighter, when Shane was preparing for Cotto he was sparring Lt. Heavyweights and he didn't win and I'm tired of pple saying Cotto has no chin...he got hit flush by Judah and didn't go down he got hit with right hands by Mosley and didn't go down...just because he got rocked or knockdown before doesn't mean that he has no chin, thats just ******....Gomez is getting hyped for beating an over-over shot fighter like Gatti, and a unanimous decision over Tackie doesn't convince me of an upset if he had more impressive wins than maybe I would give him somewhat of a chance...Cotto knows he can't underestimate Gomez because thats when an upset happens and I know he won't let it happen...Gomez is a good kid but I don't see him over-powering Cotto in anything......
