Pavlik would destroy Benn. No doubt about it. Sorry, I just think British fighters can be a bit overrated. Did Benn ever have a year like Pavlik's 2007?

Toss up honestly. Both have very good power, Benn probably punches harder with one punch whereas Pavlik wears an opponent down and then gets him out of there. Both have suspect defense, I think Pavlik has a slightly better chin than Benn and has better stamina. I think if Pavlik can get past the first 4 or 5 rounds, he would win the fight by late TKO or close decision.

That's what I can say based on what I have seen of Pavlik so far, maybe in the future he will look better and better, and it will make sense to pick him against Benn. Right now no way. I mean... Benn won a slugfest agaisnt Gerald McClellan...

Michael Watson was a very good fighter, a better technical fighter than Pavlik. Pavlik wouldn't be able to box him the same way Watson did.

mcclellan was a better version of pavlik and benn knocked him out and ****ed him up. pavlik isn't enough of a boxer to beat benn, benn lost to watson and eubank becasue they could outbox him, pavlik will stand and trade with nige, which is just what benn wants. nigel benn fought the best competition of any champ in history at 168 and never lost to an american fighter

I really don't put Pavlik in the same class. Pavlik has a disciplined sort of style and looks above average in all areas and competent, but this is Nigel Benn! Pavlik's jaw hasn't been tested by anything like Benn would sling at him... and let's not forget Benn was very athletic as well, a lot more athletic than Pavlik. He was faster than Kelly, he punched harder than Kelly, he was more elusive than Kelly, he had superb natural punching leverages, with great balance on the front foot, and could set a ridiculous pace... and punched angles geometrically impossible, and threw uppercut leads. I mean come on.

Benn never lost to an american including De Witt, Barkley + Mclellan.

The 160 Benn had enough power to knock out Pavlik in 2 rounds. No doubt about it.

Michael Watson would also box Pavlik's head off. Pavlik is the best of a **** middleweight division.

i think most agreed that the way to beat Benn was to box him let him come foward then nail him

pavliks a antastic fighter with good stamina, good powrand some decent skills but he has never faced someone like benn. benn punches harder than taylor and miranda possibly ever could. benns power would have allowed him to hold his own against a light heavy and maybe even the odd cruiserweight.

like someone said before though there were always questions over his stamina and you can see pavlik winning alot of the latter rounds and benn often punched himself out (alot like taylor did vs pavlik). imo though benn would win but not by anything more than 2 points.

Benn had good stamina, he just fought like a mad man prior to his second fight with Cwis.

When Benn settled down and didn't go in all guns blazing he could do 12 no problem at all.
