    Nationalist pride vs Common sense

What determines who you root for in a fight? What I mean is if fighter A is from your country or heritage, do you always without a doubt , blindly support them. Even if fighter A has no shot of beating fighter b , do you still claim that they will win? Do you view people who go for fighter B as traitors?

I look at things realistically, if a dude has no shot at all, I'll say it. I'm Mexican, so i want them to excel, but if i know after 12 rds they lost, then I say they lost and wont make excuses. I also won't support a fighter just because he's Mexican, I have personal favorites along with fighters who i just don't like.

Its natural for a fan to root with the same nationality. Lets look at JMM vs Jaca. I rooted for him even though i knew JMM would beat him. But i am not gonna post saying Jaca will do this or that. I just root for them to win.

I'll be 100% objective in my views, but it wont stop me wanting my homeboy to beat the foreigner.

I don't care about it. Katsidis is Greek like me, but I was rooting for Casamayor.

Putting your money on someone and rooting for someone is completly different.

i support anyone that is highly skilled, fights for pride and the fans more than money. its just happens that mexican fighters do so more than other fighters in my opinion.

i think this goes back to louis schmeling 2 and what it signified.i mean if your countrymen is a very good fighter and you're a fan your gonna root for em.it one of the most popular sports in the world and being a combat sport one man vs one man it's gonna have nationalistic leanings.
