Mike Tyson knocked Trevor Berbick (RIP) straight out of this planet...stumbles 3 times..."WHILE THE REF IS COUNTING"!!! Now that is giving some one a chance to recover.

Zab Judah wasn't even counted out. After the ref put his arms around Zab Judah, you can't say he couldn't continue. You can only see this if you are non biased and a fan of neither.

I think it's more Lou Duva's fault then the ref's. Taylor didn't respond because Lou was shouting at him and Taylor was focused there. That or he was knocked out. The stoppage was correct, but at the same time horrifying because of what it did to Taylor afterwards.
Exactly. This fight should have been stopped before it came to that. Taylor was a dead man in the ring and never did recover.

People who fixate on the fact that Taylor won the early rounds are missing the real result of that fight

I was talking about Steele stopping it. I thik it really ****ed him up insted of "saving him" as that guy said. There was probably permanet damage from Chavez, but Taylor might have never gotten into legal troubles or fight have long as he did.

What part of the fight do you think that Steele should have stopped the fight(earlier)? And are you sure you are from Philly? You sure don't seem like it

What people don't seem to realize is that there was between 4-5 seconds left when Steele waves his hands for the stoppage even though the official time was 2 seconds. Now, it's possible that the clock on TV didn't match the official clock and if that is the case then I'm wrong. However, if there really was 4-5 seconds this is PLENTY of time to do more damage and I'd hate to think what would have happened to Taylor. We'd be talking about what a horrible job Steele did for letting Taylor continue.

Worst? Unfortunately alot of fights were stopped too late. I guess that's the flipside. In 'Ring Of Fire' Gene Fullmer talks about how he ravaged Paret before that fateful fight with Griffith. People feel that had alot to do with the outcome. Now, the ref was no less at fault, to say the least - but that's an example of all the factors that come into play. A ref can't always trust himself because he knows he doesn't know everything. He can't..

I was watching some fight recently and they were saying that if a fighter falls back to the canvas after returning to his feet whilst the count has begun, then the ref has to wave the fight off. I would like to see the official rules on that though! by the way Judah got KTFO
