I'd be glad to be proven wrong, but from what I've seen of Mexican
boxing crowds' treatment of other visiting boxers, Pac'd might indeed
be fielding a lot of public diss from the minute he landed in Mexico.
But then mabe those other visitors were asking for it... who knows?

re: Marquez' televised, in-person challenge to Pac...
Well, the early op-eds are in, and I think it's safe to say that while the
Philippine public doesn't hate Marquez, he pretty much squandered most
of the goodwill extended to him as a guest of the country.
I thought JMM's telling Pac that even Pac knew JMM had actually won their
fight was done in teasing humor, but a great many others apparently felt it
crossed over into rudeness on the part of a visitor who had been treated
with so much graciousness.
Some also felt Pac had been set up by ABS-CBN which is in a tieup with
GoldenBoy, and which had earlier lost Philippine promo rights over Pac,
to rival network GMA. If you're into a third bout between the two (which GBP certainly is), then the stunt was solid gold hype for it. However, if Pac really
had been ambushed by GBP, Pac is going to resent it, and that may make it
harder for Pac to throw them the bone they so badly want.

And it is likely it will be next year till they fight again.
If I were Pac I'd make JMM wait for crying like a *****. Then he will teach JMM who calls the shots.
