Marquez Heads To Manila, Pacquiao Challenge?

Like Morales, Marquez did not fight dirty.
Like Morales, Marquez also fought with skill and heart.
I don't doubt he'll be treated well in Manila.
However, it won't likely be anywhere near the love given Morales.
You see...
unlike Morales, Marquez is perceived (rightly or not) as having ducked Pac
supposedly because the money wasn't enough, only to fight in Indonesia
for a much, much smaller purse.
His performance last fight has erased a lot of the negative vibe from
his "escape to Indonesia" though, and as soon as Pac decides on
whether 135 is his new home or not, we'll get a better idea of when
JMM and Pac will fight again.
While the bitterness of JMM's close loss to Pac might excuse the
former's words immediately postfight, it doesn't cover any further
mouthing off; not for very much longer.

I take it back
The Filipino crowd went nuts cheering for JMM, when he was announced.
And again when he was shown n the big screens between rounds 1 & 2
of the Bautista Camargo bout (Bautista by KO in the 2nd).
JMM looked genuinely surprised, smiling at the warm reception.
The scar on his forehead seemed a lot more prominent than I remember.

Domain,
It was more a matter of audio: first time around, one could clearly hear the
crowd roar and applaud, but with few really decent shots of the crowd or
of JMM.
Then there was that between-rounds closeup of JMM at ringside, and
one could again hear the crowd cheering him. The TV commentators
explained through the noise that everything seen on TV was also visible
to the live crowd via giant monitors. They also commented on the warm
reception for JMM cathcing the boxer off guard.
JMM had this truly fugly scar right side of his forehead, and was glancing
all around him while smiling sheepishly. Camargo got a really good response
from the crowd, doing a backflip in the ring at the end of the fight, as if to
say, "I'm fine, despite the 3 KD" (last one for the KO).
Didn't get to watch more of the "invasion", as I had quite a lot of meat to grill
out back.
You know...
It's really sad how forum trashtalk distorts how the general public regards
boxing and boxers. It's a lot less rabid/acidic/clueless than you'd think.
