First off, the decision over Winky wasn't lacklustre. It was a great technical battle. Winky came forward and made it a fight, Hopkins did what he does best, boxed, protected himself, stepped up his game when he needed to, and pulled out the W. As a boxing purist I enjoyed that fight a lot. It's always great when you get two guys who are completely well rounded battling each other. And Winky is still a top pound-for-pound fighter.

As far as retirement goes, there would be no more fitting way for Hopkins to ride off into the sunset as a 2-weight world champ, a living legend and one of the best - if not the best - fighter of his era

      haha

He played it safe at 160 for too long against poor opposition in an era without any real stars.
Ironic considering the same could be said about Calzaghe.

The real star beat him and moved up yet Hopkins never followed.
Why would he have to follow Jones just because he lost?? And that was what? 15 years ago?

Calzaghe will be his biggest fight since RJJ
ODH & Tito Trinidad were bigger fights than Jones jr or Calzaghe.

and he will lose that convincingly as he would have 5 years ago when he backed out.
5 years ago no one knew who the hell Joe Calzaghe was. 5 years ago he would have beat Calzaghe convincingly (possibly even late KO).

Understand that the air in Wales which Calzaghe flourished in was never as thick . Hopkins is old.. not as old as Foreman was when he knocked out Michael Moore but Foreman too came from a a group of Legends. He was the best of the best.. like Hopkins was one of the best of the best. Thats what a legend is. Hopkins is a living legend. Thats why he makes fights against good opponents look easy. Calzaghe is an easy fight.
Hopkins only faced one of those guys.
        And LOST.

And who exactly has Calzaghe beat that was a great supermiddle? Jeff LOL Lacey, who many consider a bum or was it Peter Manfredo jr or Reality TV star Bika?

And plus, you're acting like losing to Roy Jones jr in his prime is such a horrible thing. I doubt there many, if any, people that could (Calzaghe certainly woudln't have). In addition it's not like he got KO'd by Jones or got his ass kicked, it was a slow paced, boring match that neither fighter dominated and Jones was simply more active and a little better/skilled at the time.

You decide and give me your opinion. Who would win in Rjj vs. B-hop II?

This isn't about Calzaghe and to be honest I couldn't give 2 ****s about Joe.

Why would he have to follow Jones just because he lost?? And that was what? 13-15 years ago?

Why stay in a division with ZERO talent when the better fighters were at 168 & 175?
                  Cos it was SAFE.

ODH & Tito Trinidad were bigger fights than Jones jr or Calzaghe.

                  Now that IS ****ING FUNNY!
You are telling me that these 2 were more dangerous?
Oscar especially who got gifted his only other fight at 160 and was totally unproven at 160?

5 years ago IGNORANT YANKS like yourself didn't know who Calzaghe was as you only suck the balls of your hometown fighters and hype them up beyond belief.
Hopkins would have been KNOCKED out when Joes hands weren't so brittle.
Another FACT you ignore that Joe had serious Power.

Yes, obviously Kessler (and Lacy) are the two big names on his resume, but with respect to both of them, neither have truly proven themselves as great supermiddles (obviously Kessler has done more than lacy, however Kessler still has much to prove, imo).
