Actual Basis For Picking A Winner: Hopkins vs. Calzaghe?

So, what is your actual basis for picking a winner in the upcoming bout between Bernard Hopkins and Joe Calzaghe?

    Any specific previous matchups?

    Any stylistic tells?

Any glaring weaknesses/strengths on the part of either guy?

I picked the winner of this fight because of their styles.

Hopkins isn't active enough, plain and simple. Calzaghe throwing 80 to 90 punches a round is what will win him the fight.

Sometimes straightforward logic is sage. Especially in this game.

Poll added. Won't waste our time with handspeed or intangibles.

        This is tech talk.

          That is my tech talk.

Age is also a factor in this fight.

i agree, looking at the categories i would say that hopkins hit harder, has better defense and even has the edge in ring intelligence. however work rate alone should win this fight for calzaghe.

i must admit i second guess my prediction more and more as the fight nears.

Hopkins will win because of his habit of ruining other people's game.

Call it ring intelligence or call it cheating, I care not.

Calzaghe will show some temper after winning the first 4 rounds, then Hopkins will have him right were he wants.

              Close decision, SD is likely.

If timing is still a part of Hopkins' arsenal, I must add.

Much agreed, Hitman. This has been a tense leadup. Well stated.

I fully agree, Tys. Calzaghe is a hothead and it should blow up in his face.
