          It would be great to see a fight in old Yankee Stadium or Soldier Field like during boxing's golden age, but it won't happen.

              i would love to see it done the way wrestlemani was done. Outside with 70 thousand screaming fans, with Fireworks and lightshows. NOW THAT WOULD BE BAD ASS.

                I think what you mean is STADIUM, but yeah it would be cool to have a fight there.

                  I think having the fight in an outdoor arena (or any big arena; even inside) would be a great thing for the sport.

                  It adds to the atmosphere and makes things way more exciting.

                  if hatton can sellout an arena for fighting virtually a "no-name" then cotto v. mayweather could sell out an arena as well (maybe not as quick...but they could still do it). so i dont want to hear that arguement.

                  which do you prefer?

                  (i know its been done before but that was awhile ago; i'd like to know what the current opinion is).

                  i think its great for the sport in all aspects;
                  A) Money aspect (would do great numbers and allow more fans to be in attendance)

                  B) Fans point of view (gives us at least hope for boxing to return to its old state with 50,000 people turning out for a fight)

                  C) great for the fighters (they could do something that hasnt been done in a long time and open the gates for more fights like this)
                  it's all about ppvs in boxing now... floyd/cotto won't be held in a stadium.

                    Floyd is a great boxer, no doubt. But he was definitely not the main draw in either the Hatton or Oscar fights. Certainly not outside the US. Floyd just doesn't have a massive fan base like those 2 have.

                    Boxing has always been a sport for the "working" class, and I don't think many of us take kindly to him throwing his cash about and generally acting like a tit.

                    Look at what he's resorted to now to try and build a fan base. Getting some meathead in a headlock - it's ridiculous! Get Cotto and the wrestler over to the UK, with Hatton vs Witter on the same card. What a night that would be...... In my dreams! It'd sell out wembley in 5 minutes.

                      I would do it MSG or Yankee Stadium. Lots of history in those two places and if they ever fight, they'll fill up both those venues. Money will probably be a problem though.
