warren is uner no illusion as to how good khan is - warren has said so himself tht if he was to come up against a good young, strong, hispanic fighter khan would have problems.
THE CHIN: if khan can get knocked down and hurt by fighters like gomez and willie limond who are not even real lightweights (in terms of power) then imagine what someone like diaz, thaxton or katsidis would do. khan has been down plenty of times yet each time he has battled back which could mean a number of things - (1) he can shake off the punch very quickly (2) he has an issue with balance and staying on his feet.
what it does tell us though is that his defence is poor and needs tightening up. of course it remains to be seen if khan can shake the pucnh of a heavy hitter off - getting hit by willie limond and gomez and getting back up is one thing - getting hit by katsidis, thaton or getting swarmed by diaz and getting up is another.
THE DEFENSE: another area of khans arsenal with a big question mark over it - he is often open to hooks and uppercuts when hes on the inisde. no other top10 lightweight has a worse defense - but khan has time
THE OFFENSE: maybe the best in the division along with diaz, a good jab and right cross, he can put hooks and uppercuts into the mix as well. iv never seen him go to the body but with his reach and power he could blow away nearly every other fighter in the division.
IMPROVEMENTS, THE NEW TRAINER ETC: khan fired oliver harrison not so long ago and went with rubio. i myself had felt that khans improvements in his game had hit a glass ceiling, he was at times only relying on his jab and straight cross and seemed like those were the only punches he had.
when he was younger the scale ofi improvement between each fight was alot bigger and he seemed alot better every time he fought had had something new in his arsenal. with jorgen rubio khan will be looking to continue that upwards line of improvment. imo his fighting on the inside needs alot of work - as that is where he is getting tagged alot.
imo khan could well win a world title right now but the other champs would see him as easy picking, because of his defense and what not. but i expect him to win one title at least before moving up to light welter and making more of a name for himself here and in america. a top 10 p4p fighter for sure, proabaly top 5 and maybe even p4p 1.

I think Khan is the buisness and i see him making serious waves in world boxing! BUT even if u dont, at very least he is a super fast talented fighter who can hit a bit has a vulnerable chin and a big heart - makes for excitment win lose or draw!Comment

In my opinion, Khan is in a difficult situation.
He has the attention, hype and (maybe)talent of a top guy, but he has the flaws of a prospect: poor defence and a bad chin. He won't learn anything against lesser fighters but might get KO'd by someone in the top 20.
I hope he fights the best at some point, simple as that. If he loses, fair enough. No shame in losing to the top guy in the world. But if he wins a WBO belt and doesn't take on big names I will be dissapointed.
He is still young so there is a lot of time, but after Gainer I think he should fight David Diaz. Then we'll have a better idea of how good he is. If he loses so be it, it might help in the long run as he will learn from it and it will reduce the hype. Sometimes too much attention is bad for a young fighter.Comment
