Boxing is fine the way it is now. The well being of a fighter is far more important than the blood lust of the fan. There still hasnt been any TRULY comprehensive research on the negative physical and mental effects Boxing can cause longterm. What we know is really just from experience and tragedy. I can gaurantee if the damage Boxing can cause where to be scrutinized, new dangers and risks would be found.

Yeah I agree with 2501 good post.

The thing I find is that there are different types of boxing fans. Some love the sport and competition aspect of boxing while others may watch for the brutality/combat aspect of it. I love the sport and drama of the fights although watching a fighter who is taking a beating and most certainly about to lose make an exciting comeback and take the win is exciting its not why I watch. I always feel the fighters best interest is more important than letting a guy continue just because he can still stand. Stop it and the guy can come back to fight again let it go on and the fighter could never fight again.

I know I'm going to stir up a hornets nest...
But Taylor vs. JCC was stopped to soon. I have had arguments with some you in the past, and most make valid points.
But Taylor deserved that much. Two seconds, 3, 5, we can argue all day..
It also proves what a badass JCC was as well.
It's was hard to see such a gifted fighter go down from there...

Emile Griffith vs Benny 'The Kid' Paret have a look at that fight, the guy died later on..and he was still standing.
what about castillo corrales part 1, castillo was stil standing but his head was at 90 degrees to his body, does that mean the ref should have let corrales continue his beating on castillo ???

I'd like you to get in the ring and fight, and tell me if you still stick by your same opinion..silly silly thread

Agree. Fights are stopped too soon. Boxers do know the risks involved though.
