what I want to see is for them to get rid of that ******, ****** rule of not being about to stick your arm out, or hold onto the rope, I remeber seeing larry holmes doing it in the 90's and it was fine so why not let them still do it, I hate all these ****** rules in boxing.
Is boxing too safe?

I might talk bad about certain fighters on here, Magarito, Malignaggi, but I respect the HELL out of those guys. And anybody else that steps into the ring for a prize fight. I'd rather see a quick stoppage then somebody seriously hurt or even worse, killed. Some of the will, and courage I have seen in the ring is down right awe-inspiring. I'd rather see a fighter live to fight another day...

That is the ******est thing I've ever heard. If he's getting beat to a pulp and he's "out on his feet", the fight should be stopped, just like in the UFC. Nobody complains about fights getting stopped in that, it shouldn't be in boxing either. It's better to stop 1,000 fights too early than one too late. Boxing is a sport, not a human ****fight. Sometimes fighters take too much punishment that they shouldn't be taking, and it effets them long term, when it could have been avoided.Comment

Fighter safety should be priority number 1, everything else comes second. I have seen far too many fighters in shambles after their careers are over due to some of the beatings they have taken. I don't want to see that anymore so the safer, IMO, the better.Comment

Ask Leavander Johnson. Jimmy Garcia. Countless others. No, boxing isn't becoming too safe. This is a sport, not the colloseum in Rome. I've got a bunch of old tapes from the 40s and 50s, the amount of damage the ref let a fighter receive was unbelievable, completely barbaric. Virtually no such thing as a TKO. Except for insanely wide cuts. And fighters were braver generally too, people got clubbed to the ground and rose of the canvas 8, 9 times in the space of a couple rounds, even though in most cases it looked as though they knew, even as they were rising, that they had nothing left (I'm trying to think of specific examples, I definitely remember a few Sandy Saddler fights, plus Floyd Patterson). Sometimes we see quick stoppages, but often thats the blame of inept/inexperienced referees.Comment

Fights are stopped too soon, yea, and it isn't liked with the audience. With that said though, I would much rather have a fight stopped too soon then too late. I have no problem with where the sport is today as far as that is concerned.Comment
