    Was Jeff "LOL" Lacy exposed?

I kind of say "no", actually.

Even though I didn't expect him to be on the receiving end of one of the all-time great one-sided ass pwnages, I expected him to lose.

I love how it's perfectly excusable (apparently) for people to have been drawn into the hype, but watching a guy so muscular he could hardly move take about half an hour to throw a punch, be wide open, have ****ty footwork and spend half of his time missing (all the time with clearly overrated, albeit considerable, punch power) then I wasn't sold. I think anyone with EYES could see that he was waiting to be outboxed by the first decent boxer he came across, but when I said this at the time I was just a "homer" (even though I'm not Welsh. )

At the time 95% of NSB were so certain that Lacy would win that serious discussion wasn't even allowed... it was all "pwn" this and "pwn" that. It was so funny that I'm still laughing.... hence this thread.

Lacy wasn't so much as "exposed".. It was more like Calzaghe was revealed.. Know what I mean??

Good point.. I was really underestimating Calzaghe and maybe giving Lacy too much credit.. I'd say that it could've been a little bit of both, but more with Calzaghe being overlooked by many, myself included

If you didn't vote for option 3, then you know nothing about boxing.

People are too hard on Lacy. Before Calzaghe he was a pretty quick, combo throwing pressure fighter with a great chin. His biggest problem was that he was a late starter and in his fight with Joe, Joe just never let him off the hook and get in the rhytm.

Americans 'woke up' to Calzaghe when he brutalized the super middleweight Tyson.

I dont see why Hopkins is considered so great personally. Maybe its because i havent followed his career.

Im not really answering the question am i.

The only thing that was exposed were the silly buggers who predicted Lacy would knockout Calzaghe and make it look easy. Even Lacy himself thought that was going to happen. What a rude awakening they all got!

As i've said before, lacy's recent performances have been after a rotator cuff injury which is a potential career ender, it would cetainly make you think twice when unloading the bigger shots. I've had a similar injury and it takes ages to get over it 100%

A better question would be; Was Hatton exposed?
