Mayweather would never fight Sweat Pea. He'd give various excuses ranging from, "Who has he fought??!!" to,"He needs to build up his fan base first."

If somehow it was to happen, then its a pick em fight. I do think Mayweather has a slight edge in power. Sweat Pea has an edge in defense. I think Pea would win a SD due to landing more clean shots and forcing Mayweather to miss more. All in all, it would be a boring defensive fight. Lots of boos in this one...

floyd could have handled sweet pea, and would have beaten him decisively also. sweet pea and mayweather are arguably the two moat technically gifted fighters of both of their respected era but floyd, even though he had problems with southpaws, would apply a gameplan to make sweet pea frustrated all night, and here's why. sweet pea was too unorthdox, even in his prime. as gifted as he was, he has never relied on his blocking and against floyd, who imo was faster, he would eat many straight right hands, and floyd is way better than pernell was at adjusting to any style. floyd beats whitaker, hands down.

whitaker has never had the mindset of a floyd mayweather. as great as pernell's defense was, he was not faster on defense and getting back to offense than floyd was. pernell had amazing upperbody movement reflexes, but floyd's upperbody movement was close to perfect as one can be, and add to this, floyd fought off of the way better than pernell. also, floyd had more power than pernell imo, and moved more fluently than pernell, and add to this, floyd goes from defense to offense very fast and effectively, as pernell could stay stationary at times. what i'm getting at is that mayweather was too methodical a fighter for pernell, and i just see in no shape or form, how pernell would beat floyd. floyd is the most fluent fighter of the last 4 decades imo.

this would be a really close fight that could go either way. Also it will be a chess match and pretty boring for those who disdain technique...

Hard to call this. But they would almost mirror each other by their defense and great offensive weapons. Prime Sweet P vs. Prime Floyd, I would love to see it. My dad actually came up with Sweet P and he was one of the best boxer, punchers and defensive fighters that I have ever seen. Also during his reign he was considered P4P the best boxer. Definitely a dream match up and for me, its too close to call.

True definition of a pick'em fight. Can't go wrong by going with either fighter. I would have loved to see this fight just because of the skill level and ring smarts of each fighter.
