Let's keep this post running. It's interesting to see fellow boxingscene members being duped. The statistical demographics that are inquestion are based on statistics from 2005.... It would be fair to state that Germantown has been through a gentrification or "transitional period WHEN THINGS CHANGE > influencing the economical and social structure. Surely the economy nor the populaton of the 1980's would not be as that of 2005 or in any place for that matter.
This is like some one saying the Statistics (Poulation, Economy,Income level, ethnic groups, etc.) of South Bronx of 2005 is similiar that of the 1980's. > That would be FALSE INFORMATION.

Bernard isn't fake or creating a false image, he walks the toughest neighborhoods in Philly and doesn't need bodyguards. He is repected in the ******'s of Philly and you can tell the man has been through alot.

      Bernard is the truth....
You're purchasing it. ******s of Philly? He's not from them, he doesn't live in them, and so he doesn't "walk through them" except when he's doing a commercial for HBO.

There is a method to all madness And also, for the record, I am not one of the "Hopkins haters," not by a long shot. I was there when he fought RJ in 1993 and heard him talking AFTER the fight and they way he carried himself in defeat always has stayed with me. I don't buy methods like this that he uses to sell fights, thats all....I know as a boxer what is going on in that ring and I know the ploys used by certain people, the myths, too. But as far as a man and a boxer, what he has done and how he has done it, especially how he has evolved as a smart and technical fighter, Hops is THE MAN to me!

            • Hops was walking through the bowels of RFK stadium on his way back to the dressing room and he was real calm and composed, saying that Roy fought a good fight, etc..and that he'll just go right back to the drawing board, that he went to jail, etc and that he overcame that and that he will be back and he didnt let the tough times stop him and he wont let a loss stop him. In that regard, OUTSIDE the ring, his experiences have no doubt helped him to be a man that would come back from something like that, and he did

Right and Prison is a cake walk. READ MY POST, I don't care where he is from, the guy is a warrior, who had stood the test of time and is kicking ass at an age where most guys have beer belly's and sit on fron of the computer to talk about real athlete's.

My boy is from Philly and they LOVE him there. All I hear is about the Philly fighter and how tough he is. Bernarnd gets my props no matter what people want to think.

                Actions speak louder than words.....

                  right on man, thanks!

And for the record I do agree with you that all his history won't effect the fight meaning that it doesn't change a mans skill, technique, etc. bhop says a lot, and as you know, he will say a million things to try to hype the fight (the tito flag incident was purely an attempt to sell the fight (which I think was successful!)). Most of this is hype, some of it is what he truly believes, it's what to expect from him, but you just got to read in between the lines w/bhop.
