Well I disagree. Most people agree he won the last 4 rounds. He only needed 3 of the first 8 to win. 2 to get a draw. He got that easy. He wasn't so conservative that he lost 7 of the first 8. He was still the guy landing the effective punches. Even in the first half. That's the way I saw it.

Apparently the judges saw it differently. It doesnt matter if he won or last, anyway in regard to this topic, it matters that when it came down to it his past life experiences were not enough to defeat a guy who at the time was very green compared to him. The ONLY fact I am stating in regard to BHOP is that his past life (jail, stabbings etc) are not the end all be all of in the ring motivation. He says that they WILL BE THE DIFFERENCE in his fight with Joe C and I obviously strongly disagree. He ceertainly may win but it won't be because of his past life. If his theory was correct then he would defeat all men out there who by comparison have had much easier lives. That's fantasy

I think Bernard was just makin reference to an old urban city cliche', "Comin' From Nothin' Makes You Fight Harder For Something" B-Hop is just motivatin' himself and at the same time lookin to plant a seed of doubt in his opponents head! Nothing more than just good old fashion trash talk! Bernard is smart enough to know that when you step through those ropes, its not about where you frrom, its about where you wanna go! Who cares what the judges saw? Judges in boxing are full of **** half the time. You know, They get maybe 1 out of 2 right WHEN THERE NOT BOUGHT OFF. So what if Taylor was green compared to him. Hopkins was old enough to be his daddy. Literally! So which one is the advantage? And Taylor is the guy who got his ass kicked. You know, took all the punches. Did Hopkins even get hit in that fight? Not really.

i agree Hops lost BOTH fights, gave away too many rounds..
but because of his rough up bringing, prison past and was stabbed. he was never KTFO like JT or RJJ.

NOT that everyone who been to prison can still be succesful at his age, just that "HE" uses it as his motivation.

Bernard Hopkins is a product of his environment. He is a hard man. He is not a ignorant thug but he is a street smart wise guy who has seen some ****.

Anybody who does 4 years in the penitentiary and goes on to become a professional fighters gets props from me. Usually when someone soft makes it after 4 years, they have booty problems and self confidence issues for the rest of their lifes.
