So you didn't see La Motta stumbling into Robinson and then stumbling back to the ropes. You're right, he wasn't hurt.

No, he was tired. Reminds me of Mollo vs Golota where Mollo was stumbling around the ring from exhaustion.

LaMotta was hurt, nearly toppling over.
One or two more punches, Jake would have been asleep.

So the punches he took to the head right before him stumbling didn't affect him too badly. He was badly hurt and was holding onto the ropes to keep himself up.

I do not agree. He was stumbling like that towards the end of the previous round, and it was clearly from exhaustion. The same reason he stopped punching, he didn't have anything left in the tank.

Keep in mind, neither did Ray. Ray didn't have much power left on his punches. LaMotta even joked about this later.

Watching that reminds me of why I love Robinsons right hook the body so much. Beautiful punch.

You are not watching the same ending as I'm watching right now...

                Dude was hurt.

He was stumbling because he was hurt, La Motta had fought to 15 round decisions before and never had stamina problems. It doesn't make sense that he'd have nothing left in the tank after 12 rounds, he was badly hurt by Robinson and only his heart and guts were keeping him up.

If he didn't get hurt by the left hook combo at the begining of the round, there is no way that lost combo hurt him. Jake was simply trying to grab on, and stumbled forward in exhaustion.

If you notices, Jake barely even moved around the whole round.

He was exhausted, I don't dispute that.

But if ever a mofokker was hurt, LaMotta was...
