The problem with Hopkins is he can't tell the difference between a face that says "You've got under my skin, Bernard" and one that shouts "**** me! I'm fighting a moron".
Hopkins denies racial slur

First of all, he is not from the projects. That's a lie. His real neighborhood had plenty of white kids. And it's not in North Philly. What he is saying is that there were no white faces around in the projects where he used to live. You ever saw the movie White man can't Jump? That's what he is talking about. A white boy came into the projects try to compete with black people, same thing here. He is basically telling Joe, you can't beat me like the movie said "white man can't jump". It's up to Joe to prove him wrong like the white boy proved in the movie proved everybody wrong by slam dunking the ball at the end of the movie.
Nothing racist about it.
Secondly, if he did mean what you attribute to him, that would be racist as all hell.Comment

So, wait, by his logic, if I tell a black person that they are a lowly nigger just to get a raise out of them, but not actually meaning it it will not be racist?Comment

B-Hop knew ****** people would overreact to this and that's why he said it. Hype the fight, piss off Joe C, stir the pot. Smart people understand why he said that ****. Even though I agree it was tasteless as **** I don't believe it was genuine bigotry from Bernard. Some dumbasses really wanted to believe he hated all Latinos when he trumped the PR flag. If you're an adult who's livin in the real world, B-Hop's comment can't possibly be the most offensive thing you ever heard, and if it is grow up.Comment

I think he said it on purpose, but good point. Maybe that's the first insult that popped into his head and it just came out soundin worse than it was supposed to.Comment

Get real, B-Hop has been in bigger fights than Joe Calzaghe, and now hes going to lose his control? Let me guess, he lost his control in Puerto Rico too? Even at the weigh in Hopkins got in his face and Joe was laughing awkardly like he wanted to get the hell out of there. If you dont think Bernard had that whole weekend planned then you really havent been following Bernard that long, or just cant see the obvious.Comment
