I guess you could say Tyson (for the last 10 years after the Holyfield losses).
Some people thought he would be a challenge to Lewis.
Michael Grant (very tall, huge reach, suspect chin) and David Tua (big left hook, no work ethic) turned out to be disappointments.
Lacy crumbled under Calzaghe's pressure and looked awful against Peter Manfredo.
Paul Williams might qualify, I heard some people say he would be p4p #1 for years and would easily defeat Floyd Mayweather and the other top WW's.
Many people knew what he was about though, a guy with lots of physical advantages but who does not really know how to use them to his advantage.Last edited by TheGreatA; 03-31-2008, 09:23 AM.Comment

Floyd Mayweather, easily...
His resume is hand-picked...he choses to fight past prime fighters like De La Hoya instead of prime welterweights like Cotto. If he really was a great fighter, wouldn't he be willing to fight the best opponents?
Yet sportswriters and some fans here consider him to be a god! Go figure...Last edited by The Hammer; 03-31-2008, 09:41 AM.Comment

Floyd Mayweather b/c he has done the least to get to where he is at, no saying his skills aren't there he just hasn't fought a fight that impressed me since Castillo. If he don't start getting into the ring with good prime fighters he will go down as a boxer who basically conned the system. Got paid the most money to fight lame boring fights and fighters and never really did anthing to be "the man"!!!! I am not hating this is strictly fact, he doesn't fight fights he thinks he can lose but yet trys to convince everyone around him he is the greatest and doesn't need to fight them fighters.
Boxing needs to mandate a "Money Mayweather" rule that you must fight the number one contender and stick to it, there is no way Floyd and Oscar (present day Oscar) should get all the lucritive paydays and never even get into a real fight, Floyd says all roads travel through him and that makes me sick b/c he didn't do **** to get there but beat Oscar, and the Oscar he beat is nowhere near a good fighter!!!!Comment

I would say DLH. He is a good fighter but he is so over hyped. You would think that he was an ATG with all the pub and talk about him.
They make him seem like a multi-division Champion when he was merely a multi-division titilist. Its debatable if DLH was ever a true Champion at all. He was never the undisputed champion of any of his weight classes and its a testament to the ABC's genuis as to how he got soooo many belts.
147lbs: He lost to Tito and Mosley here and never unified.
154lbs: Won some ABC's from Vargas (how did Vargas get those belts after losing them to Tito?). However did'nt get to unify against any other champs here before losing again to Mosley.
160lbs: Strum and Hopkins do I need to even go here.
He had some good fights and good wins but if you step back from the neon lights and allow your retina to dialate you'll see he is wayyy over hyped.Comment
