And what made him great at 154? His wins over Mosley right? Of course they did, but I could easily say they ****** because Mosley's best weight class was Lightweight. I'm not going because Winky is a great fighter and it shows.

We don't necessarily know if Winky can compete at 168 because Hopkins is such a difficult fighter to fight, as is Winky. And people thought Taylor beat Pavlik the second time, but it doesn't mean they are always right.
I edited my post a little.

Wright was great at 154 because he won the WBO title, defended it several times before losing it, won the IBF title and defended it several times before unifying against Shane Mosley.

It's similar to Hopkins' reign as a middleweight (Hopkins' reign was a bit better), the names aren't all that great and the best wins they both had were over smaller fighters but they were consistent, defended their titles against top ranked opposition and unified the titles.

Winky can probably compete at 168, he is a tough fight for everyone even now but Hopkins' performance against him is not something that makes me think he will dominate Calzaghe.
Wright did not look like he fit 170, that doesn't mean he can't compete in there but he won't be able to compete at the same level he would at 154 or even 160.

I think Hopkins would have to fight quite differently than he did against Wright to defeat Joe and I don't think he has what it takes to fight that kind of a fight at his age. We will see if he can prove me wrong.

Yeah I can agree with that.

I just tend to think being the smaller guy and losing because of that is really overrated. Plently of smaller fighters have been sucessful at higher weights and so if the smaller guy loses, then it shouldn't discredit the other guy.

Clash of styles not for the good either ,im not expecting a lot at all TBH

If Hopkins is'nt able to get done what he wants to then i dont think he will force the issue & risk all to win ,but if his style troubles Calzaghe then i can see Joe really Pushing the issue and making it an entertaining fight to try & eak out a decision ,the oweness is on Joe for entertainment value

it will only be an entertaining fight if Calzaghe falls behind IMO ,B Hop could have beaten J Taylor but his reluctance or lack of youth meant he was content to sit their and let Taylor outwork him and take his titles ,Hopkins has earned his stripes he is 43 years old he does'nt want or need this fight as much as Calzaghe ,so IMO if what he does is not good enough then he has lost cuase he is not ther type of fighter to push the issue & chase victory like Joe Calzaghe would

I agree a guy should get credit. But let's say Floyd wanted fights at MW with Kelly Pavlik to equal Oscar's accomplishment of 6 divisions. If Kelly knocks him out, does he automatically become the best fighter in the world? More realistic perhaps is Pacquiao fighting Hatton at 140, if Hatton wins should he get full credit? I don't think so.

                  Good.

Another ****** prediction I can quote from you now and use against you when Calzaghe wins and you start saying Hopkins was too old.
