I remember this site BEFORE the Lacy fight and the english cowards on here didn't even class Calzaghe as British back then. After that they jumped on his **** and now go to pathetic lengths to claim him as English. English boxers are crap, frauds and so it doesn't surprise me they go to these lows(claiming fighters as their own when they are not). I wanted Hopkins to win because he's American but didn't mind Calzaghe winning because he's not English and not a fraud like Hatton, Woods etc.
Calzaghe played the Welsh national anthem in the Hopkins fight, came out to the Welsh flag, why, because he's Welsh, you limey morons.

This thread is too much. Who cares what nationality he is? I don't understand why people see any fight as a personal victory for them, no matter what the nationality. Calzaghe is Welsh, which is part of Britain, he is a Brit, and he is a fantastic fighter. Could be from Mars for all I care.

I know that London-born Joe Calzaghe considers him Welsh more than anything else, but there is no need to be anti-English. I have been going to his fights since 1996, as have six of my English friends.

Do you agree with that statement? I think it is somewhat true. I realise Wales have nothing else in their tiny pointless country but Calzaghe needs to realise he is more English than he is Welsh therefore he should represent England or Britain.
