should Marquez immediately follow Manny to 135?

Is this his only true chance for a rematch? To immediately step up to 135 and challenge a champion in hopes for a show down with Manny should he win against Diaz? Who should he fight if so? I think this is his best chance towards improving his legacy and having the rubbermatch with Manny.

Well, it's pretty obvious Manny's not coming down to 130 for a rematch.
Last few fights, he's had to drain to make 130 at weigh-in, then bounced
back up to around 146+ by fight night.

Marquez doesn't need to rush a move up in weight just yet. There's other fights for him at 130 still. He probably won't get Pac a 3rd time without movin up but for now he should concentrate on cleanin up at superfeatherweight since there's probably nobody else there that can take him. After he proves himself as the man there go up and call out Pac again. He deserves another fight with Pac and it'll be big especially since Pac will probably have Diaz' belt by the time this happens. I'd rather see Pac-JMM 3 at 135 than Pac-Hatton at 140.

If pac loses some of his power at 135 he has no business moving to 140, he will get muscled and pounded.

I think moving up to 135 would be a risky move for Marquez
but for whatever its worth Marquez totally dominated a fighter in peden that beat campbell twice.

I know theirs more intangibles involved (you lost to him, so i can beat you kind of thinking) but maybe the Marquez's team might consider fighting campbell because of that. In order to bring something to the table for a third match with the pacman it might be worth the risk.

The safer route would be to challenge Casamayor instead of Campbell thou.

Campbell presents a much more physical and grueling fight than Casa.

I agree with you and I think Marquez would do very well against anyone in that division. His skills are far superior to most and he would likely still have good pop on his punches.

Yeah Marquez definitely has the skill and technique (respectable pop in his punches) to compete with the lightweights but the only thing that could hold him back is his chin.

Especially in a fight against Campbell

he would have to reverse course style wise and avoid getting into a war too quickly

I think he should stay at 130 and become the man there, I think he should only move up if he can fight Pacquiao.
