There is plenty of upside of course, but this is all about two ego maniacs.
The rematch should've been in May, not September! This is the reason I was not happy with the rematch, I don't like to see a guy who is ranked P4P #1 fighting once a year.

Oscar is and will always be a tougher fight then Cotto, in my opinion. It would've been nice to see Floyd fighting Cotto in May and Oscar in September. I think most us will agree Oscar is a tougher fight then Cotto but the reason we want to see the Cotto fight over Oscar, is we've already seen the Oscar fight.

I just hope Gomez beats Cotto and Forbes beats Oscar, this way Gomez/Forbes should be on PPV and Mayweather, Delahoya and Cotto will be out of big money fights.

Every big fight hes had (in ratings) is because of his opponent and because people want to see him lose. Even in the WWE, hes suppose to be the good guy and people hate him lol.

Oscar - Floyd (oscar was the pull)
Floyd - Gatti ( People where hoping for a Gatti miracle)
Floyd - Hatton ( Hatton without a doubt)

You never hear people chant for Floyd to win except his small fans.

I guess if he keeps doing what hes doing hes going to become even more hated and people will watch him in order to see him lose.

Floyd is known throughout the boxing world, but i wouldnt say that he is "popular". Popular is a word that i would reserve for someone who people generaly like. Floyd isnt very liked in the sport. He will only do big numbers by riding the coat-tails of popular fighters. When he can sell out an arena fighting a nobody ala Hatton, or do just shy of 1mil ppv's fighting someone like Mayorga ala Oscar, THEN u can say that he is popular. The majority of people who do tune in, and pay to see him fight, only do so in hopes that he loses or gets ktfo. Once Floyd gets his first 0, he will no longer be marketable. Its that 0 that's keeping him alive.

That unbeaten record is the only saving grace of his career atm. The General public may know his name but they don't really care about him, he's not a champ like ALi or Sugar Ray or Mike Tyson that captured the attention of the media, no matter how hard he desperately tries. And I doubt the WWE promotion will help the boxing world gain new fans because he's already stated on Larry King all he will do is run around the ring.

The way I see it is his popularity amongst the average person may continue to grow, but as long as he keeps playing wrestler and not fighting the top guys in his division his repsect as a fighter will continue to diminish....amongst the people that matter....real boxing fans.

Floyd would have to be a household name which he isn't yet...to be one u'd have to be in commercials.. and so far he hasn't...
