Here's some more of these 'angles' he is talking about.

      05:15

I'm quite sure this guy is just joking about it.
Casamayor is a tough guy and a skilled fighter but he hasn't really proven to be one of the greats (and probably never will, Casamayor isn't exactly young anymore), sure his elusiveness could trouble Duran but I doubt he would actually win.

Even in his prime, Casamayor fought evenly against Castillo and Corrales, not above their level.
Duran on the other hand showed that he was above every single lightweight that was around his time (DeJesus was the only one who beat Duran at LW and Duran avenged that loss twice).

Duran was a great fighter no doubt and top 5 ever of all time, but Whitaker, Mayweather and Armstrong would have overwhelmed him. I also wouldn't mind favoring a peak Chavez to upset Duran. Duran is not overrated as a fighter at all, but by many people in this thread and this forum he is.

                  EVER...???

He wasnt even the best in the 80's

He is not over Sugar Ray Leonard
He is not over Thomas Hearns
He is not over Marvin Hagler
He is not over Julio Ceaser Chavez ( Chavez was once 81-0)

But He still was a great Fighter.....

So you got 4 over him in the 80's alone....
Lets not talk about all time....

                  But this thread is crazy...

BTW he lost to all those fighters except Chavez...

Duran beat some great guys back then but when you think about it, who did he beat at lightweight that was as good as Mayweather, Chavez or Armstrong? Its just a completely different era of styles and talent. The training of todays guys are also better as well. Thats like saying that Fitzsimmons would still be dominate in todays middleweight division, which is completely laughable.

There are guys today that would give peak Duran problems, even though i would favor Duran over most of them. People tend to forget that Duran lost to Estaban De Jesus at lightweight and just continue to say that he beats everyone. The man is the greatest lightweight of all time and top 5 of all time but please, stop overrating the greats.

I'm not too sure if I'd favour Mayweather and JCC to beat Duran but they would both obviously have a shot at beating Duran.

I see Chavez as a fighter who Duran would have an 'easier' time to deal with than the others because of JCC's style but a fight with JCC is never easy.

Mayweather has experience dealing with pressure but for example Castillo pressured Floyd 'intelligently' in their first fight (unlike Hatton and Baldomir), similar to the way Duran used to and had success.
Duran could have trouble with movers though (doesn't everyone?) and Mayweather has can defend himself on the inside very well.

Armstrong and Whitaker would be two very tough fights for Duran, Armstrong because he is a non-stop punching machine and Whitaker for being as elusive as a fighter can be.

It's all fantasy anyway but I'm sure MOST would agree that Duran would favoured over Whitaker, Mayweather and JCC.
That doesn't mean it is necessarily true but that just shows you how highly he is regarded as a fighter and for good reasons.

                      Duran vs Leonard

Duran beat some great guys back then but when you think about it, who did he beat at lightweight that was as good as Mayweather, Chavez or Armstrong?
That's the same for Mayweather, Chavez and Armstrong though... who did they beat that was as good as Duran? It's all about resumes and Duran's is as great as anyones.

Duran also exhibited his great skill, taking on much bigger men at higher weight classes and still being successful.
That simply added to the greatness he already achieved had at lightweight.

BTW he lost to all those fighters except Chavez...
They were all younger and bigger than Duran was.

Duran still competed against them (even beat Leonard) and had a great run at LW, every bit as good as Leonard's at WW and Hagler's at MW.

Do not forget about a 37 year old Duran defeating Iran Barkley, a man who knocked Hearns out (Hearns who blasted Duran out in two rounds), at MW, several weight classes over his natural weight (LW).

Duran's fight against Hagler was closer than people expected it to be, people thought he would be blown out but he went 15 competitive rounds, even leading on the judges scorecards after 12 (which means if the fight had happened today, Duran would be even more legendary).
